[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a replacement for a microwave oven. Yes an expensive replacement, but it does so much. There is a learning curve in using it, but if you learn its features, it is your go to oven. Problem. The oven comes with recipes in their program data base. There is NO recipe for baking bread from scratch. GE needs to have a robust program database for cooking different things.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used the microwave and speed-cook features so far. There is still the convection oven and bake modes, but I don't expect to disappointed with them. It is 120V, so if you are a chef or in a real hurry to eat, you might want to go to the 220V model. However, I put mine under a gas cook-top, so It is not recommended to have that much heat rising under the gas-cook top. The microwave and speed-cook do not have any problems and are nearly as fast as a 220V model. Every one has their own preferences though, so make yourself happy, because you don't buy a Great Oven everyday, at least I don't.

Great Oven

We purchased the GE Advantium oven four years ago when we were redoing our kitchen and a standard microwave oven would not fit the space available in the kitchen cabinet. We paired it with a standard GE Profile self cleaning oven and after living with the oven for four years, it has become indispensable.

We purchased this product in June of 2011 as part of a kitchen remodel. It lasted only 7 years. We decided to repair it at a considerable cost. It just died again after only 18 months. We loved having it but will not be buying another one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
