I HAVE OWNED SAMSUNG PRODUCTS SINCE 2004, THIS DVD PLAYER IS AWSOME, IT'S EASY TO USE AND LIGHT WEIGHT, AND HAS THE BEST PLAY PICTURE I HAVE SEEN. CRYSTAL CLEAR. THE REMOTE IS EASY TO USE AS WELL. IT'S NOT TO BULKIE. I THINK EVERYTHING I BUY FROM NOW ON WILL BE SAMSUNG, EXSPECIALY MY NEXT FLAT SCREEN T.V. MY PARENTS HAVE ONE AND I LOVE IT. THANKS SAMSUNG. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS DVD PLAYER TO ANYONE LOOKING FOR A GREAT DVD PLAYER

Do not buy until the firmware is updated

Do not buy this product until they update the firmware. If you stop playing an avi file you will need to resume the movie from the begining. And my second issue is that the device cannot tell you the duration of an avi file. These are 2 basic functions and I am shocked that they are not working.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This DVD player was easy to hook up, easy to operate and easy on th budget. Extremely pleased with the product and the excellent vale it offers.

Unpacked from box and had it hooked up in less than a minute. Great picture and if has the features I wanted, such as what all it plays such as dvds, cds, jpeg ect... Would recomend it to everyone.

Excellent DVD player. Connected to my 42LG70 with WireLogic HDMI cables, the picture quality is fantastic.
I love the OPEN/CLOSE feature on the remote, very convenient.
The fast fwd goes from 2x - 4x - 64x to 120x, that's some fast forwarding.

Great Picture, Exceptional Value

I've owned an HDTV for over a year now and decided it was time to upgrade my DVD player. I was skeptical if I would see much improvement from an Upconvert DVD Player or not and I couldn't afford a Blu-Ray Player at this time. When I saw the price of Players has come down I decided to buy one. I compared the Samsung DVD-1080P9 with a comparable priced Sony model and decided to buy the Samsung because it offered more features. Later that day I hooked it up to my TV and popped in J.J. Abrams' Star Trek DVD. Wow!! The picture is awsome. Not as good as Blu-Ray, but for the price, I'm impressed. I also own a Samsung HD SyncMaster T260HD 25" Computer Monitor that I love. When it comes time to buy a Blu-Ray Player, I'm buying a Samsung.

This is my first purchase on a Samsung product and I was amazed all the feature, easy to navigate. I recently purchase another brand name and I returned because I could not find any good feature. I woulld recommend this product. Thanks Samsung!
