disappointed. wifi and battery problems

Wifi problem - after an hour of inactivity, wifi stops working and resetting wifi doesnt work. Requires a full power down and up to fix. Just to have it stop working again after inactivity.
Battery problem - after fully charged in the morning and disconnected from power, leaving it untouched, when I get home from work, the battery is completely dead. All the same settings on my galaxy s3 and my s3 stays up working just as hard if not harder.
I also have a touchpad, it seems all the touchpad problems followed with the slate 7. Disappointed, was excited too receiving this.

Poor basic OEM Android product

The Slate 7 is a clear example of an OEM product marketing attempt gone bad. The device does not deliver the memory, battery life, sound or accelerometer features as advertised. HP should wait until it can design and manufacture a product on its own that is at least as good as an Amazon or Samsung tablet before trying this again.

Under featured, but cheap-ish

No GPS, and the screen res is better than really cheap tablets, but not good enough to be useful in most situations.
It's OK if you can't wait, and don't have the cash.

Slate 7

I actually hate the device. If this device was to help me learn the Android system it failed utterly. My conclusion is that I hate Android OS more than ever. The user manual which should have been on the device was not there. It took me more that a week to search and download it to another device. Following the instructions, from the manual, for loading files to the device does not work. I would like to wipe the Slate 7 clean, put the product back in the box and return it to HP. I am looking for a reasonable priced WINDOWS tablet.

Thank you for your review. The Slate 7 does not include a GPS and is not compatible with some applications that require this feature for location awareness. Some apps will work by manually entering in a zip or using Wi-Fi location sensing or if the developer didn’t mark GPS as a requirement to work. Please note application developers can make updates at any time that would affect compatibility.

HP Slate 7 ... Great Product ...

The HP Slate 7 has great performance for the price. Great build quality and Beats Audio
is a plus in my book. I'm not a big fan of tablets, but I'm enjoying my HP Slate 7 . I'm looking
forward to future Slate products ... say .. 11" version with 32GB, 9 hour battery life and a price
that is easy on the eyes.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Slate is Great!

My home is no stranger to technology toys, between my Wife, Daughter and I we have most of the popular ones of the day. Android and I-phones, I-pads, Android tablets (and even one of the original HP Touch Pads which I use daily to check Email and Facebook!).
The new HP Slate 7" is a great product, the inclusion of a micro-SD card is aces!!! While I keep a very extensive music collection "in the cloud" the ability to load selected favorites along with some movies and books to the micro-SD makes this pad very handy indeed (WiFi is almost everywhere but there are times you don't have it and only "local" data fills the bill then!)
My only disappointment is that HP didn't keep the wireless docking/charging feature they had with the TouchPad.
I would recommend this to a friend!
