loved it until it stopped working

We bought this oven in 2012 and have loved it. In the last year or so it became difficult to start. We had to jab the start button repeatedly for it to eventually start to work. But in spite of that we still loved it and used it daily. I did a lot of baking in it.
Yesterday we noticed that the heating elements simply did not heat. Sad day. I suppose we have gotten our money's worth from it but still hate to toss it out.

Love my 13-year-old oven

Frozen food not ever cooking at recommended tempreture

Proven not to cook very smart. Every frozen food I cook in this oven, I follow the instructions on the box, I cook at the recommended temperature. I cook at the time recommended. The food is never done in the center. The thermostat is misfunctioning, the timer does work because I always use a secondary timer. I trusted the company and product. I was wrong, this product does not function well.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My previous Breville oven did not have the convection feature which is a big upgrade for my new oven. It decreases cook time and increases the browning of roasted items. Increased space in the oven is nice as I can cook more things at same time. All of my Breville ovens have greatly reduced my usage of the standard electric oven in my kitchen. Great product!

I bought the Smart Oven approximately two months ago and I absolutely love it. It does so much. I baked a banana bread in it and it came out perfect. I also use it for simple things like toasting bread or waffles.

One of my better investments....

I have had my Smart Oven, model BOV800XL for many years. I'm not certain how many years I've had it but possibly since its first appearance on the market. I've had it a long time. I performs very well and the only exception I would mention is that the buttons are sensitive and finding the temp takes some finesse and the type of operation (roast, bake, toast, etc) is also touchy but just takes some patience to find the right one. Otherwise, I've used it for baking all sorts of foods, for toasting bread, for reheating food, etc and it has always performed very well. I leave the convection feature ON all the time and I've never had any squeaking or odd noises emanating from it. I love it and hope it lasts a long long time!

This is our second Breville Smart Oven. We repalced one after 8 years of steady, hard use when the screen finally went dark, the buttons were finicky, but it still worked. The new one is just as good and better! We love the convection feature, the ease of use and, needless to say, the reliability of the oven. We kept the grill and broiler tray from the old oven to use in the new one as a double decker for two items to cook at the same time. Tried it a few times with flat vegs on the bottom grill and meat roasting in the middle and it worked perfectly.
