I purchased this in 2012 to replace our traditional oven which was primarily used for storage. It's large enough to make a roast or chicken. It also replaced our toaster to save on counter space. It is still working perfectly well. Seems like there was a bad production batch a few years ago. My only complaint is that the door spring needs to be replaced. Highly recommended.
I bought this oven two years ago and have been generally unimpressed, considering the price. Its main function for me is to produce toast or bagels in the morning, however it toasts unevenly and takes a very long time. The window in the door is tinted, making it hard to see the degree of doneness of the toast. My wife uses it for more complex operations and likes it quite a bit. However, it just died, showing E01 as an error code. My understanding from reading other comments is that it is unrepairable. I just noticed it only has a one-year warranty which is puzzling considering the brand name and the price. I am in the process of trying to contact Breville to see what options I have.
Have had this smart oven for years, and it does a great job. It actually replaced my oven until we were able to complete our kitchen when we moved. Especially love the reheat feature and how quick it is!
We've had this model for at least six years and use it daily. The fan noise others mention happens, but I don't find it as bothersome. Eventually the door magnets wear down and the door opens on its own - some cheap metal button magnets corrected that. Occasionally the buttons get confused and try to perform each other's functions - a quick double-tap fixes that. Otherwise it has been rock solid. I recently decided to try another high end kitchen brand model with similar sizing and features...after a week my family demanded I return it and restore the old Breville (or buy a new one). I'll never stray again.
This unit has moved with us many time and has been used heavily on all settings. After 10 years we are starting to loose the heating element and we are super sad. It was worth every penny

Since I purchased this smart oven, the start button rarely works - haven't a clue what to do with the convection setting as there is not one word mentioned in the instruction book...no matter how I push the convection button is tapped - nothing happens...the start button needs to be pushed God knows how many times and, if I'm lucky, it eventually turns on. I believe I wasted lost of $,,,with this purchase and am VERY leery of purchasing the smart oven air fryer...may I have some feedback please...
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello Elaine, We do have information on page 18 and 19 of the instruction book on the Convection setting. We'd like to get a case started for you to assist.
