A Great Choice

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this monitor for over a year and I have not had a single issue. The split screen works great and the size of the screen is definitely a plus. I use this monitor for work and I usually have multiple screens up at the same time. Since it is so large the pages are able to stay at almost the same size when I use the split screen feature. You will not regret it if you purchase this monitor.
Pros: Style/Design, Performance, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality

WOW is all I can say

When I first saw the Curved version of this Monitor I quickly fell in love with the 21:9 Screens. Based on what I could afford I went with the 34UM65-P. Not One Regret. I had a TV and 2 Monitors prior, this Monitor Rocks. I am able to split the screen into 3 screens as if I had 3 Monitors. It is a beautiful display, I love being able to watch newer movies at 21:9, it fills the whole screen, No Bars. This Monitor even has its own speakers which are ok if you don't have any speakers. Now onto Gaming, I have a 760 video card and everything from BF4, Crysis 3 to Titanfall works Perfectly filling the whole screen, very smooth, no noticeable lagging. I went from a 2ms Monitor to this 5ms and truthfully I cannot see a difference. Maybe it is the Awe of this big screen. All games mentioned I am able to set them to the Highest settings at 2560 x 1080. Doing the Math, I was looking at getting another 3 monitor type setup but I am so glad I had this option for around the same cost of the 3 monitors. Again, No Regrets. If you can afford the 34UM95-P or the Curved 34UC97-S Great, but in my opinion, this is the best monitor for the price. You could get two of these for what the 34UC97-S cost. Oh, I highly recommend only connecting this Monitor to a Gaming card by a Display Port Cable.

Great monitor with one problem

So I have had this monitor for about 3 months when it started developing a vertical line from the top to the bottom of the monitor. It is about 1/3 of the way over from the left side and at first it would appear randomly then disappear. Then it would stay there for longer, and longer. I found if I pressed on the bezel below the line it would go away for awhile, then come back. Now even pressing on the bezel does nothing. It's extremely annoying for everything. Movies, websites, games, spreadsheets, etc. are frustrating to view.
On the up side, before this the monitor has great color, good viewing angles, great for gaming, and I feel is a good value, unless you get a defective one like mine. Now I am waiting on LG's customer service to decide if they can find a repair place where I live or how they will handle it. Whether I would recommend this monitor depends on how well they fix this problem.
Pros: Performance

Absolutely love this monitor

I had two 27 inch monitors and this LG ultra wide replaced them. I really like the new monitor and it's better than having two monitors.
The screen and colors look brilliant. Was easy to install. The provided software works flawlessly. Really like the joystick and it's very easy to use. I have nothing negative about this monitor.
I wish there was a control to switch input source without having to go over several levels of menu. But that's only a minor issue.
In future I will check LG before I buy any other monitors.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality, best monitor in the market

Right source for today's intellegent consumer

Coming from a retired motion picture/television (analog) technology background - this 21:9 ultra wide format is a step forward in the right direction as an alternative if your creative purpose is graphic arts, photo editing or video streaming TV cable programs i.e. Net-Flix, Hulu Plus, Google View, etc (as a frugal economic prospective). However the 1080 X 2560 resolution could be better served at 1440 X 2560 to round this monitor out to near perfection, with it's inherent realistic color depiction, which it has right out of the box.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, Quality

Still going strong after 8 yrs......

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My first Ultrawide purchase from July 2015 and still going strong with no problems 8 yrs later . ~ I now use three LG ultrawides as one for pc gaming . However I use of two of these on the sides and an LG 34UM95 as the center monitor . With custom settings these days Nvidia or AMD using the two differant resolutions screens is no problem and hard pressed to tell the differance in resolutions in gaming while using the three screens as one (resolutions used 7680x1080p or 7680x1440 . ~ The later two were purchased used on emay , but those also are problem free and working just fine . ~ Mabe the only drawback these days in 2023 would be the 60hz panels that each of these are , but in reality I can run these at a 120fps with no real dofferance , no lag , screen tearing , or motion blur unless I go above 130-160 fps . ~ Iam still happy with this setup for gaming , but will eventually look for LG screens with a higher refresh rate of 100-120hz minimum . ~ I luv LG tv's and monitors as everyone that Ive ever purchaced (including my multiple plasma's in my home ) are still going strong ! Thanks LG !!!

Better than my previous LG 27"

cons:
-backlight bleeding pretty much visible -not a high performer in regards of Color Gamut and Temperature Differences -not satisfied with the reading mode, it just turns the color tempature to cloudy or shade
pros:
-does not flicker -perfect picture, ideal for bluray movies due to the 21:9 ratio fullscreen -easy tilt adjustment -no dead pixels
