My interest is landscape photography. I prefer to shoot near sunrise or sunset to capture the colors seen at those times.
My NX1 has proven to be quite adept at handling those conditions, especially with much less noise than my Nikon D5200. Overall, it does everything that I have read in numerous reviews from photo sites and magazines.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
I would recommend this to a friend!

If you're looking for pretty good image quality and great video, look no further. I work for my university's news to photograph events and also shoot video for the marketing/branding department. More and more these departments have started to double dip on my time when I am out on an assignment. I usually now get something to the effect of "Student Demonstration, south campus lot at 2 pm, want 15 strong images with cut lines /and/ 30 sec of B roll footage + two or three quick interviews." The NX1 is perfect for these hybrid assignments. Forget the initial reviews, firmware updates have made this into an entirely new, better camera. Oh and lastly, this is the only camera where the video autofocus tracks well enough to actually be useable. I normally slap on either a 12mm or 85mm manual focus lens for video work when I am planning and being deliberate. However, if you are in a hurry or recording yourself it works great. Example being you can essentially set the camera to record and have a move toward and away from the plane of focus; the NX1 autofocus keeps up quite well to my surprise. I am really excited about this line from Samsung and hope they keep developing into it.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, duakl mic and headphone jacks, free tethering software, wi-fi that actually works
Cons: no s log/v log flat video profile, h265 codec is a hurdle at first
I would recommend this to a friend!

Love this camera!

I just got this, but after having used an NX300 for the last year or so, find this to be even better! This is coming from someone who has been shooting other high end digital cameras for 10 years, and film before that. The NX 300 and now NX1 are perfect for my photography, whether I'm aiming for tact sharp or blurry abstract. I love the touch screens (ease of use). The image resolution is terrific.
Great camera, but it's going to be discontinued by Samsung

First I would like to state that is is an amazing camera. I have really enjoyed using it and it takes fantastic photos. I have used it at gymnastics tournaments, for landscape, wildlife, portraits, and city shooting. It takes nice photos in the dark, but this would be the only area it could improve.
The reason I have chose not to recommend this is because it is being discontinued. The lenses are no longer available in my location and the support is disappearing.
There are no smart adapters available to use lenses by other manufacturer's either, which means you are stuck with a dwindling set Samsung lenses. If you are ok with manual focus and aperture there are "dummy" adapters that will allow the use of other companies lenses.
Pros: Realistic color, Bright display, Durable, fantastic photo quality, super fast
Cons: discontinued lenses, doesn't support lenses by other manufactures
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
