everything is good about this player. bought this because of the 7.1 ch output. but was pleased by how quickly the unit connected to my home network and how easy they made it to use netflix and pandora. wish they could just put an interface for accessing any webpage. the firmware update took its time, but maybe that was due to the wireless connection speed. sometimes the user interface or the remote are not intuitive, but you can figure out what you want to do with a little exploring. if a disc is bad, this units takes much longer to give up than my sony player and that gets irritating. the unit just stops responding. better power off/on to remove the disc. the touch-sensitive buttons on the top are really cool. atfirst i thought they were fake because they didnt have the familiar touch of a button. they could have made the front look a little more sexier. Color output is a bit strong compared to other player. Overall I am pleased with this product and have already recommended lots of people to check it out.

We purchased this player yesterday. I am a 67 year old lady and I hooked it up all by myself. Was so easy. I am streaming Netflix with no problem. We like it so far. Picture is great.

1)Wasted most of a day trying to get the system to access wireless router to run Pandora, etc. Solution: This device will not recognize a network name that has a space or symbol in it. I had to reconfigure the router. This info should be included in the owner's manual. 2) I could not get the sound to work with my surround sound system through the optical cable. It had a repetitive digital signal drop out blip that increased in frequency over time to the point of total loss of sound. Solution: None. Took it back and exchanged for floor demo (never plugged in) Works Fine and I like it.

This is my first Blueray player I bought. I purchased along a 40 inches Samsung LED TV Series 6000 mostly because my old multi region DVD player broke and to upgrade my HT to HD. So a broke DVD player drove me to make this purchase.
I have DVD collection with region 1 & 4 mostly. My big disappointment is that Samsung does not offer a Multi region DVD, nor a paid upgrade or something to make it multi region. Region discs is something of the past. I'm sure I can copy my DVDs to a region free DVD but I would prefer to pay Samsung for an upgrade and use the original DVDs on the player.
My first impression was that the Blueray was not as good as my TV to reproduce media from files. The first firmware it has was not able to play mkv files, but when it was able to do it the TV still outpaced the Blueray. Also some DVD movies where not up converted right (Harry Potter and the order of the phoenix).
Last firmware update (2.05) seems to improve DVD playback on the movie mentioned earlier. I have not tested mkv files side by side with the TV but I think from what I saw that they were improved as well, however it's not able to decode subtitles yet. Not the TV :(
The TV has a much better user interface than the Blueray. It is strange how the same company has so different user interfaces. As an example: The file browsing. The TV has multiple ways to search for a file i.e. by creation time, alphabetical in a multi-layer interface i.e. Top layer from A to Z so you can jump for different letters quickly.
I was able to connect the Blueray with my network disk (Western Digital My Book World Edition) with not much of a problem, a better user interface will be better though. You need to do the connection every time you want to use your networked disk, the not to bad news is that the player store the settings unless a Firmware upgrade erase it. As long as Firmwares keep adding good things is a good trade/benefit ratio.
I'm able to see all my digital media from the Blueray. MP3 files can be played, however it is not easy to browse for them. Playlilst can not be saved so MP3 playback. It seems that this feature was included only to check the mark on that, but useless use when you have a 2000+ MP3 files.
It comes with the WiFi USB adapter, however I preferred to connect via wire to my router in order to have a better bandwidth for streaming video.
The good news is that it could be better and the things that can be better are software things that can be modified in the next firmware. So I might upgrade my review in the future. On the hardware side I think is the best choice.
Samsung: If you think that modifying the software implies cost. Sell the upgrades! (of course with a 15 days trial to evaluate if it's worthwhile for the end user).

Worst Samsung purchase EVER

I've had nothing but problems from my BD-P3600 from the time I purchased it.
I've owned the unit for 2 months. I have yet to watch a complete DVD without the unit locking up or freezing. The same goes for the Netflix connection. It never fails, about 1/2 way through the movie, it locks up or will drop the internet connection. My PS3 has yet to drop the internet connection; go figure.
It IS NOT WORTH the money!!!!!!!!!!!

BD-P3600A is connected to Samsung 58" Plasma and I am very pleased with the interaction between TV and BluRay. Wireless N works fine. Originally I was very happy with the unit, but, have now had a lot of problems with the player freezing up. Latest is that It will not play some of the disks. This week, it would not play four different disks. I have spent hours going over online help manuals, talking with support and resetting the unit. It freezes and locks up . Takes a long time to startup and react to commands. I have learned to only push a button once and then to wait and hope the unit reacts. Suppport has been good, but tells me that a new Firmware update may not be out for months. Meanwhile, in a weeks time, I have four disks that will not play. Big problem is that I don't know if the player is going bad or if the latest Firmware update was bad and if it will ever be fixed. Not knowing if my next disk will work is very frustrating. No way that I could recommend the BD-P3600A to anyone. I got the unit in Nov.2009 so my labor warranty is expired and maybe the Parts Warranty will expire. Loved it when it was working right. Now,sorry that I bought it.

Easy to setup and use

Setup was quick and there were no problems connecting to my network using the instructions. The additional streaming features are excellent and I was able to connect to Netflix and to other computers on my network after only a few minutes of setup. The wireless dongle appears to communicate well with my old wireless router that is one floor and about 50 feet away. I was hoping for integrated wireless capabilities, but I am very happy with the performance of the dongle dongle. I can stream HD content without any issues. The dongle could pose a problem if you are extremely tight on space as it will stick out a couple inches from the back of the unit. Load times for DVDs, online content, and blu-rays are all very acceptable. I haven't timed anything to the second but blu-rays are up and running in under a minute.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I was afraid to purchase this machine becuase I saw a couple of bad reviews, but this machine has done everthing I wanted and more. The 802.11 wireless connection works better than my computer.
The only issue I had was that I had to teach the wife that she had to hit the OK button to play a DVD when it was loaded instead of hitting the PLAY button like we do with our other DVD players.
The picture is great, The HDMI is flawless. I have not done the sofware upgrade that it keeps asking me to do since everything works great.
