Awesome Camera - Crummy Software

I purchased my Samsung Note 4 on the A** Network in Feb 2015. In mid April, my phone began experiencing drastic reductions in call quality and signal availability. I was told by both A** & Samsung reps that the Note 4 has a known antenna issue. My troubles continued with my phone not being able to make calls to certain but varying contacts at different times of the day and same with text messages. My contacts have now resorted to texting my on Wh**s** to ensure delivery of messages. I have confirmed with Samsung and A** reps that there is nothing wrong w the hardware of my phone, but rather it is a known software issue. I received a software updated the last week of July, but the problems persist. I notice now, that if I am connected to Wi-Fi, my phone signal and texting essentially does not work. Turning if off makes all the difference but still a band-aid to the problem. Overall, super disappointed in this product. Can't wait for a solution or my contract to be up to get back to an iPhone.
Pros: Realistic color, Bright display, great camera
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, software glitches, not able to text, antenna issues w/loss of signal, should have stayed w iphone
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

From a Mom

From a stay-home-Mom's point of view, this phone is perfect! Large, bright screen, easy to personalize and fast charging. I use it for everything from basic texting/phoning to grocery shopping to doing online, virtual school with my son.
This phone makes being a Mom easier ... scheduling, keeping in touch with family, friends and the kiddos's teachers, budgets ... and handwriting notes! I love the S-Pen for writing notes! It learned my handwriting within minutes and there has been no looking back.
I recommend the Note 4 any time friends and family are looking for a new device!
Pros: Realistic color, Bright display, Durable, easily personalized, fast charging
Cons: speakers a bit tin-y
I would recommend this to a friend!

Overall, this is the best phone i have used. There are a number of enhancements that should be made (i.e. customize the OS more as other carriers have, to provide more intuitive settings; better wifi response when connected to public networks/hotspots; etc.), but as of now, it beats other smartphones on the market.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: Not high def

This is by far the best phone I have owned....

The actual screen is the next most obvious asset this phone has to offer. It's big, bright, colorful and super sharp. Those extra pixels might be too close together for my eye to focus on, but they do make little details show up nicely. I personally love the saturation of the colors, but I am a more modern graphic designer at heart. As far as battery performance related to the screen goes, I certainly notice increased consumption when the screen is on, but I'm not afraid to fire it up even when I'm below 10% life. See the battery section for more.
The S-Pen is great. Still very unique to the Note series, this was one of the reasons I really wanted this phone. I love to doodle and this makes it easier to do that anywhere, and in color. The S-Pen would not be hard to misplace, but there is a warning to be set up, which beeps and vibrates if it gets left behind, so that's comforting. Screen write is nifty, the phone takes a screenshot and then puts it right into a drawing program so you can write/draw/emphasize whatever. It will then save the picture to the gallery for easy sharing. Additionally, when the S-Pen is out of it's dock, and a keyboard dialog comes up, there is the option to input text via handwriting. I find this moderately easier than tapping with the pen, or putting the pen down. It takes a little learning, mostly to write in such a way that S's and 5's, O's and 0's are distinguishable. When I think about it though, it's probably forcing me to improve my penmanship.
Battery life is pretty good, and charging, even with a standard cord plugged into a USB port is quick! I can regularly get 23.5 hours off the charger, with about 4 hours of actual screen on time. Charge times are about 1.5 hours on the adaptive charger or 3 hours connected to a computer usb. Over the weekend, I didn't use the phone as much as I had been (I'm mostly done tweaking options), and was able to get just about 2.5 days off of a full charge + 1 hour on the adaptive charger. I think that's pretty good! One excellent option is the Ultimate Power Saving mode. In this mode I still have the phone, SMS and alarms (in addition to a few other things) and usually only lose 1-2% over an 8-9 hour period. That combined with quick charge times have made me unafraid to turn my screen on, and to use it at full brightness! The removable battery is nice, though I wouldn't do it daily because of my case, but it's nice to know, I don't need to void the warranty/damage the phone if battery life ever starts to worry me.
Call quality is decent. I can't say it's much different than my RAZR. Unfortunately, my work is in a shifty spot between towers... so I'm used to having dropped calls if I move around, but it hasn't gotten any worse at least. On the other hand, I'm told I sound much better, and I'm sure that's the GN4's superior noise cancellation. The volume on the phone is loud enough for me to comfortably make calls in loudspeaker or phone-to-the-head mode, even when my environment is noisy.
The camera is great in daylight, not as great in low light. It takes nice quick pictures when the sun is up. In a low-lit room, it can take a second to focus and snap but it's not unbearable, it's the blur that results if the subject is moving that makes me sad. Video is a completely different animal though, very crisp, very smooth. OIS is great! The 8x slow-mo mode is neat, as is the 8x fast-mo. Having a toddler means they get a lot of use!
As stated before, performance is top notch. Very little delay in launching apps, and little or no lag when switching apps. The 32GB of baseline storage is plenty for my uses, but it has a microSD slot if not.
Other features: the stylus is very precise and sensitive, and I can almost mimic my paper penmanship well. There are supposedly software features to interpret handwriting into digital type. Regardless the stylus is great for photo editing and jotting down quick notes
Heart rate sensor: works great and I love having the option to check my heart rate and stress level. You have to hold it steady for a measurement, which will probably be hard (but not impossible) while running. It does have a useful feature where you put your finger over the sensor to take a selfie, which is useful as the placement is convenient for this.
Fingerprint scanner: It works 100% of the time if you follow the instructions, which are to swipe your finger/thumb straight across the scanner. The only problem is it won't get a read if you don't swipe straight and true, or are much off center, which is hard to avoid at first when you need to quickly get out your phone. Works best if you hold the phone with one and swipe with the other.
Pros: Bright display, Built-in speakers, Lightweight

I love my note 4. I switched from Iphone just to get one and from the first day i knew i wiuld never go back. Its sleek, yet amazingly sturdy and i love the dual screen and the option for one handed operation. It uses a lot of battery so keep a charger with you at all times. If they could solve the battery usage issue it would be literally perfect
Pros: Realistic color, Durable, Lightweight, sleek design
Cons: uses a lot of battery must keep charger on hand

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is one heck of a device. It is powerful and beautiful. The screen is clear and 4k videos look fantastic on it. I really like the S-pen and using it to draw. I have attached a pic I drew. This phone handles anything you can throw it.
Pros: Realistic color, Bright display, Built-in speakers, Durable, Lightweight, s-pen, great for everything, removable battery, micro sd slot for added storage
