I loved the phone from the second I picked it up. Great upgrade from my Note 2, right up until the latest update. Phone is slow, over heats, freezes up, apps have compatibility issues. Absolute disaster since the update.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
I would recommend this to a friend!

Big phone

It's a big phone for my big hands. Can't complain.
I'd like to give a short but real review. To someone who may need it.
Summary
-For what it is. I am happy with it. I like it. I want a phone with a pen. Period. This is it. It's relaxing to write with it and it the job done. It is altogether a pleasant.
The Notebook app is enough. It has over a hundred different page styles patterns and a dozen or more linestyles. While It leaves off the polish and thoughtful additions for its userbase to add to it, it can do many things more than I'm willing to write about. It can do it successsfully between apps too.
Assuming they could focus to Artists and Scrapbookers, diary or photo diary lovers, photobloggers, and anyone looking to just sharing by writing when away from loved ones. It is enough but lacks the impact to make it excellent. Writing and sharing options are all there. Cross app functions are good. Integration is not really there.
Action Memo on the homescreens? (Like Post-it Notes.) It gets the Highscore come with reminder/alarms right in front of you.
Good phone and the only phone on the market of its kind. It succeeds but is "off". I like it but cant love it. Easy software fixes. Rolls finger. (Lets go.)
It is worth it. That's why I bought it. It is not perfect.
WhichLeads to;
-FOR WHAT IT COULD BE.
It could be a very flagship very popular thing or very boutique niche with a cult following. With seemless integration using that sidebar for an "Active Notebook" / "Active pages" with a tab for the standard app sidebar.
Missed the sofware boat bad this time too. Needs exclusive apps for draw, paint, editing. I had to dig for Autodesk Galaxy sketchboom this time. Came preloaded last generation.
A full screeen view with a write line at the bottom as an option with the same app behavior and add write learning that can save to SD to balloon as much as it needs to and gain speed. Use those Gigabytes but make it learn. So even a doctor could use it after letting it learn. (Bad hand writing.) For handwriting to typing.
It almost doesn't try enough. Could use alot of things all software.
S-pen seems less than last gen. Holds lighter than my life makes completely comfortable.
Review --------------
Having come from the Note 3 the most noticable change at first glance is the increase in speed therefore processing power. From the 2.4Ghz chip in the Note 3 to the more robust mobile multicore in the Note 4. It made me stop for for moment thinking about that. It's welcome speed.
There is a power saving throttle which is a necessity for someone out there to save battery and Samsungs very logical "safety" (it is to me) of "ultra power saving mode" allowing 18 days of standby power. It's a thought if you get lost somewhere, car dies, and you have to find a tower. It is notable and worth mentioning. Definately something worth knowing.
Expanded multitasking. It's multiwindow, capabilities are aided by the speed increase but here are new improvements as well. That you can take a call, go to your note pad, window that, and to go to another such as e-mail and work on multiple screens in multiple apps windowing many apps like a browser and forth in many combinations. (Not all apps can window.) Has been there but Has been added to in how you get there. From the sidebar again. Hold the back button drag and drop. You have a window. The recent app screen can be held and dragged from to make a window as well and if you drag down from the corner. All making it easier to get around. I don't know if thats Note specific so check it out if youre shopping for a phone
The touchscreen seems to have been improved from the last generation. Default is more sensitive to me and It's been the best I've known to begin with. To hold up under long term writing it's only logical. I've never experienced any problems and writing on it with the S-pen stylus is very pleasant. It's not a gimmick or a throwback though it is not required if you enjoy it. It takes a little discipline and is slower but can be used as an input for any field. The field for writing is on the surface about the same but seems to have improved recognition as well. l am writing with it to review on and off. I thought it had some statistical feature of improvement last Gen maybe l imagined it, made it up. It's not perfect there are words it wont seem to take with my handwriting. lt is altogether a relieving and relaxing experience. If not inconvienient to bad integration for the notepad itself. l enjoy it and usually it's moves like a breeze.
There is a catch with the Note 4 S-pen. Its a trade off The S-pen doesnt stay as firmly as in the last generation. I don't like it but it allows better access when using a protective case.
(The default Note sensitivity writes just fine through it.)
Charging speeds with the Note 4 are dramatically improved.
The camera is improved as well. Quite nicely if may say. Take a pic, write on it, send it off. Rather even like a picture diary or scrapbooking. The size options are too large and too few for an ideal. But the photo editor makes up for that.
Which leads to the Notebook app and Action Memo. Notebook; lt writes what you write. it has pen and brush options that are enough to satisfy me. Book and page options that are functional and visual with more that can be downloaded and it all works smoothly.
The Notebook app needs better integration. It's too far away when a click seems like it should get you to it with improved integration the sidebar could have an "Active Notebook" or something. Fully customizable paper and adjustment to templates for color and texture would have been ideal. But that can be fixed with a simple update. But the browser for available paper types is a plus its easy to add or delete styles.
The ability to draw and paint with Autodesk sketchbook is a major plus. It works very well and can nearly do anything you can do with it. The S-pen shines there but its underemphasized and didnt come preloaded this time this update is kinda "off" too and needs some exclusive Note series apps.
They can fix all these things by adding to the default software. It doesnt really have any problems itself. It's hard to explain how the software is "off".
Because of that it misses flawed gem. I really like the Note 4 it is the best phone I've ever had and almost everything I could want but "off". After the pen itself most of it has to be software and it's not at the level it should be.
But It's what there is and that's the reality. The stylus is game changer. To write, draw, and paint is the gamefield. The Notebook is the ball. But its like the Note from which it gets its name was unfinished for a meeting or something. They didn't drop the ball but it's underweight and the field wasn't kept up but it's enough.
Cheers.
Pros: unique writing is relaxing and nice.
Cons: bad notebook software integration.

I have had Iphone before this note 4 and find that this product is just as easy to use as Iphone which is user friendly note 4 is just the right size for myself anyway it's video quality is excellent for video on YouTube screen size is just right no squinting to watch video or even texts
Is a great phone and I love it! Only thing is that my fingers and hands are small compared to the phone itself but still would not trade it in for anything. Processing does run a bit slow but not by much. Would recommend to anyone looking for a big phone that allows you to configure it to the size of your hands.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, able to conform to size of hands with a built in f
Cons: runs a little slower than other galaxy's
