I bought this DVD last year, my first attempt at yoga, and truly is the best introduction if you're going to go about it via recording. I still use this almost everyday before work, it's the perfect length to waken the body/mind and still make it out the door on time (20 min including the corpse pose/meditation). There are two separate 20 min routines anyway, and an in-depth pose instruction to make sure you're engaging the right muscles. Great stuff. I fell in love with Rodney using this DVD, bought 5 other of his works to accompany this one on my shelf. Yet to be let down. Also, If you are also using this as your gateway into yoga, definitely recommend using a decent sized mirror so you can look at your form until you get a feel for each pose.

Having never been to a yoga class I was finding it difficult to keep up w/ other beginner DVDs. Rodney Yee is easy to follow to by far the best beginner's video I've seen and I won't need to buy another one.

It advises you with the most basic skills and postures that are essential before beginning yoga. I've attended yoga studios; however, no yoga instructor has ever taught some of the things taught through this DVD. Yoga is not about much you can twist or stretch. It's about your posture and your breathing. This DVD concentrates on that essential aspect to yoga. It's just too bad that it only went through a few postures. It would have been nice if there was more of a variety that would make it more worth it for its cost.
Appreciate the time given to teaching correct poses. I'm a beginner and OLD, so this tape has given me much encouragement and that it's filmed in such a beautiful setting makes it a joy to watch.. Especially enjoy the relaxing manner in which instruction is given.
I was trying to keep up with yoga sessions on U tube. It was so difficult for me to keep my balance and hold a pose. My body was very sore. I was introduced to your beginners DVD. I love it. I am 62. Rodney Yee's techniques is simply comfortable, easygoing, and relaxing. I feel much better about yoga now. I am excited to see how far I go. Aging has been a challenge. Using your techniques in Yoga has given me courage to age gracefully. Thanks

I truly enjoy this DVD and sincerely hope Rodney and Colleen do more of these very basic beginners DVDs. What is really great about Yoga for Beginners is that the teachers go through step by step on properly aligning your body for a pose. I have done home yoga for years, but have never truly understood where I was going wrong in some of the basic poses. Therefore, I have spent several classes on just doing the first part of the DVD to relearn yoga. I also like the other programs in the DVD's. The instructors' gentle voices and happy faces really make me relax and enjoy the poses with or without instruction or with inspiration narratives. The sections aren't too long and thus can be done in minutes, but I usually choose to do both sections for a good workout. I might point out I have fibromyalgia and lower back disk problems. I feel great after this DVD. Thank you for this DVD. Good job!!

even though I have been working on yoga for about 2 months, I wanted to get this dvd to get the basics down under a Yoga Master. This has pose instruction that can be used with specific explanation of how to do the poses. The actual exercises are at a pace that you can follow, and you can choose how much instruction that you need. Rodney Yee is very deliberate in his instructions and clear. Awesome product!

Not Just for Beginners!

I have been practicing yoga for years, but find the pose guide to be invaluable. It is so easy to get into bad habits in different asanas and stances, especially if you only have a DVD teacher. (And Rodney Yee is a terrific DVD teacher, no question!) The pose training is a nice slow workout on its own. Both Rodney and Colleen Saidman show the common mistakes and then how to correct them. I feel as if I am in a master class, not a beginning class, with this DVD
