my only problem with this computer is that when it arrived and after i hooked all the cables up and turn it on i found out the cable to the hard drive was not connected i had to open up the chasis and connect the cable myself ,something that should have been done before it left the hp plant.Outside of the initial problem i hav'nt had any problems with it,i have been pretty pleased.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Desktop

Purchased this desktop with the 64 bit operating system & after having nothing but problems for 2 days exchanged it for the 32 bit operating system. With that being said that’s not a desktop or HP issue but a Microsoft issue. After receiving the new desktop with the 32 bit operating system it’s been great. Very nice looking desktop. No problems out of the box. No problems installing programs & hardware, even older things that aren’t suppose to work with Vista. No problems with Vista, people over rate Vista issues anyway. Got the AMD Phenom(TM) 9850 quad-core processor (2.5GHz) & 3GB DDR2-800MHz dual channel SDRAM (2x1024,2x512) which handles multi tasking with ease & anything you can throw at it. Runs fast. Same said for the 512MB ATI Radeon HD 3650, DVI, VGA, HDMI, no problems handling what you throw at it. The 500GB 7200 rpm SATA 3Gb/s hard drive gives us plenty of space. Premium Wireless-N LAN card and Bluetooth(R ) works great. Plays music & movies with no problems. HP had very competitive pricing. Very please with purchase & would highly recommend this desktop.

Pre recorded tapes and DRM

If you own a library of pre recorded tapes and expect to be able to play them through your vhs tape player on a Media Center PC - it does not work. The TV tuner honors DRM and will NOT allow you to watch your favorite Star Wars video. I can understand not allowing us to press the record button, but we own the video, and I would love to see my collection of movies on my new 22 inch HDMI monitor, but no...
The PC is a dream, setup was a snap, performance is great, and the monitor is stunning to say the least. I don't know what words to use to express my disappointment in not being able to play the 100+ tapes I own on my new Media Center -NOT- PC

The computer that almost did it.

This computer is a great computer,
it is very nice with its features and ease of installation,
but it really lacked in performance, This computer just needs more power out of the chip.

P.S. My friend has this exact same computer, just instead of AMD, It has INTEL inside and it is AWESOME!!

I went over the entire set up and I was amazed at the product.. All of the fetures I set up was better then the one I have now with HP>> I own a HP Pavilion a1040n and I had to buy a surver to help with the memory.. I have got exlant service out of my PC and now I want to upgrade to the m9300 series.. Good work HP on your PC programs, outstanding job..
