Worried

Initially I LOVED this heater. My sons room is upstairs in our cape house so it's not well insulated. This heater started off providing a gentle warm heat and my son slept great. Tonight I go up to tuck him in bed and his room is chilly. I walk over to check the heater and it's off and won't turn back on? I had to unplug it a few times and it finally turned back on but I'm worried now it's going to shut off and he'll wake up cold tonight.
Pros: Heats Up Quickly, Lightweight
Cons: Stops working
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Absolutely love this heater. I researched a lot on heaters for my daughters nursery, and this one had the best reviews. We've been using it since she was 7 months old and she is now always 2! It keeps her room at a consistent temp all night and I rarely have to put the heat setting over a 2 or 3. I love how safe it is and I can leave it in her room without worrying she'll burn herself.
Pros: Durable, Good Power Output, Heats Up Quickly, Lightweight

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The vornado tempa is a very safe heater in my opinion. It has so many cool safety features on it! It has a button on the bottom that shuts off the heater if the heater is moved in any way. It has a slide lock on the power button. It also has cycle features that are pretty cool as well. I use it in my bathroom sometimes just to warm it up, and it works really well.
Pros: safety features, Settings

Trusted Company, but disappointed with the product

I had to give this product 3 stars, because my number one concern when purchasing a space heater for my toddler's room is safety and peace of mind. With excellent safety features, I trust the Vornadobaby heater for my child's nursery and that is the reason I gave three stars. Regarding its ability to heat and regulate my child's room temperature, I have to say I am very disappointed. I purchased in late November and have tried to be as patient as possible with this product because I "want" to love it. Unfortunately, I've lost many nights of sleep having to get up all night to adjust my child's thermostat, as it is extremely inconsistent. My child's room is not well insulated and I am relying on Sunny to help regulate his room temperature overnight. It simply does not do this well and my child has awoken many nights with his room way too hot. As a result, I lower the thermostat only to have my baby waking up too cold. (I have a temperature display on my child's monitor, so I'm aware of the temp in his room at all times.) When the temperatures outside fluctuate, I suffer because I am constantly having to adjust the temperature never knowing how much heat it will put out, regardless of the setting on the thermostat. I must mention that last month I woke to find my child's room only 60 degrees and the heater had completely stopped running. I called Vornado and got a replacement within 2 days. I was very pleased with customer service. I hoped that maybe I had a defective heater causing the inconsistencies, but unfortunately, the new heater is just as inconsistent. I would recommend Vornadobaby products to a friend, but would not recommend the Sunny if the intent is for the Sunny to be the only source of temperature regulation in the room. I would recommend trying the Sunny CS with the automatic climate control and temp sensing. I so wish I had done this!
Pros: Great Customer Service, Peace of Mind/Safety
Cons: Inconsistent
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Was hoping it would be as good as promised, but...

Warms, and looks so nice and safe, but then doesn't turn on again. Maybe after I unplug and wait for an hour. But it is so unpredictable, that I really don't know if and when it will turn on. Not very fun when it happens to stop working at 2 am and I want my child to be warm, and I also want to get some sleep. Overall, very disappointed.

Wow... A lot of thought was put into the design of this unit. Pros for toddlers crawling around: - The air gets hot, but the case stays fairly cool - the cord is concealed under the unit behind a nice heavy flexible plastic guard so you can bring out just enough cord - an automatic lock covers the power button whenever the unit is turned off - a kill switch shuts the unit off if it is tipped over, but it does not have an audible alarm - if the intake is covered by something, and the unit overheats, it shuts itself off I was trying to think of why this heater wouldn't just work for EVERYONE, not just babies or in a nursery. I couldn't think of a reason why not. It does have a soft pastel color design, but that's it. My dad asked if it rotated (it doesn't), but when I started thinking about it, many portable heaters do not rotate. Not sure why, but the fan has two settings and seemed to warm the room fairly quickly. I really can't say anything bad about this unit. It feels nice and durable, and seems to be made of high quality pieces.
Pros: Convenient Use, Easy To Clean, Portable, Sturdy Construction

Wonderfully designed product

The safety design of this product was by far the best aspect. The on button is covered by a plastic latch that needs to be moved out of the way before you can turn it on. my 1 and half year old can't do it but I'm not sure about 3+ Another feature I love is how the cord is hidden underneath the unit and you only need to pull out as much as you need. bye bye tripping "and knocking everything in the way over" hazard. Side caution. We left the heater on high for about 15min and returned to touch the unit. It didn't burn us per say but it was hot enough to cause pain.
Pros: Convenient Use, Design, Easy To Clean, Portable
Cons: Poor Quality

The Safety-Conscious Parent's Ideal Nursery Heating Solution

As a very conscientious mother, I am super vigilant about purchasing only baby/toddler products that meet my very high standards for both safety and effectiveness. The Sunny heater fully meets all my requirements in both categories. I love the many built-in safety features, including holes too small for tiny fingers to fit into, automatic shut-off if it tips over, power button cover to keep babies from inadvertently turning it on, and hidden power cord area. I tested out all these features and deemed it certainly safe for my highly curious toddler's room. As far as effectiveness, this product is a wonderful heater that applies gentle, comforting heat. My baby was born in winter, and I really would have loved to have Sunny back then. The 7 different heat settings (plus fan only) give you plenty of options to find the perfect temperature for your child's room. One thing I find fantastic about Sunny is that the sound it makes remains consistent (and it's pretty quiet and not annoying at all) regardless of whether it's on high heat, low heat, or any of the 7 thermostat settings; for parents with highly noise-sensitive children like me, this is so important since a random increase in sound could wake them up. With Sunny, you have the option of running the fan constantly, in which case the heat cycles on and off, so that the constant hum is going (that's what I choose) or the option of the Auto position, which will cycle on and off both the heat and the fan. This is by far the best heater I've ever used and the only one I would trust in my child's room. Past heaters I've owned have gotten alarmingly hot, were inconsistently noisy, and smelled awful. One even sounded an alarm for no reason, and I got rid of it because I was scared it was faulty. Sunny, on the other hand, puts me at ease and is a product I would absolutely purchase and recommend to all parents. My first experience with VornadoBaby, which I'd heard of but not used, has been very really positive.
Pros: Child-safe, Convenient Use, Easy To Clean, Portable, Quiet, Sturdy Construction
