Just What I Wanted

I'm an editor with a magazine that features outstanding outdoor photographs. Quite frankly the Canon 5D Mark II has features I'll never bother trying. All I'm interested in is large super sharp files and, boy, does it deliver. Coupled with a 580EX flash and a 50mm 1.4 lens...I'm getting better photographs than I did with four 24mm to 70 mm images stitched together from a Canon 40D.
Pros: excellent image quality

I am a lover of the 5D mark 2 the camera is amazing. The still pictures are great but the video is awesome. It is so clear. The only negative thing is the sound, i bought an external mic for this camera when i am doing video. does great in low light
Pros: still pictures are beautiful, the video is hd, does great in low light
Cons: the sound quality is terrible, a bit heavy

I've owned Canon SLR cameras for over forty years and this is the best product for me.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: only 3 fps

Also the kit lens (24-105 f/4.0 IS) is a good buy, but I would pay much more for a 2.8. I shoot a lot of theater and
lens speed is always welcome. It would be nice if you added the IS feature to the great 24-70 f/2.8 lens.

Love the camera but needs manual overrides for all functions in video mode. Does beautiful video but we need to be able to adjust ISO, Aperture, Shutter and FPS if possible so all shots will match. You have a wonderful product here to shoot video but we need control. Thanks.

1st full frame canon i purchased.

Very pleased with this camera so far. I have owned both the 20D and the 40D and both were great cameras. This is the 1st full frame digital I have purchased anmd so far have enjoyed it very much. I have been printing 81/2x 11" and 8.3x20.60" panoramas of landscapes. Great quality pictures.

I considered this model because of the full frame sensor and the fact that I could use my EOS lenses and am throughly pleased with the performance. Happy with everything about the camera. I have used the early (1996) EOS 1N before so the layout was comfortable for me and easy to learn. I had become comfortable with digital menus from using my son's PowerShot since I have been a hanger-on to film. Love the quality of the movies! My only slight complaint is that the shooting data at the bottom of the view-finder is not as bright as I would like and it is difficult to see in daylight.
