A Good Upgrade

I have only used the my new 5D now for a short time but I really like it so far. I found it interesting how my 105 mm lens acts like a wide angle at the low end of the zoom. The HD video comes out very nice but it will not be something I use to often. It would have been nice if the HD video could have been shot through the lens but so far it seems you have to use live view to shoot video. The shutter is a lot louder than my 50D but all in all, I am very happy so far with my purchase.
Pros: excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Nice features/settings, Solid Operation, easy to use
Cons: noisy

The problems with the 5 D Mark ii the images are hazy and 'soft' over 70% of the time regardless of the ISO settings and program selections. I have exchanged this model for another 5 D Mark ii and it also has similar issues so it appears that it is the camera unit. I will wait until it returns from the factory for calibration with my lens to see the results, hopefully this will do the trick.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Superior build quality, Solid Operation
Cons: Poor image quality, focus is soft, autofocus system
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

auto focus point
on February 17, 2010

I have a problem of auto focus with my 5D-11. most of the time, sharp area is a few inches before the focus point. I say, 80% of the time, focus is off. I tried so many ways. I still have the problem, include auto focus micro-adjustment. This is not acceptable for picture quality. This is my first digital SLR camera, so I may doing something wrong ?. I just want to fix this problem.
Pros: Nice features/settings
Cons: Poor image quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have had mine for almost two years and I love it in low light. Wedding dresses are wonderful!
Pros: great color, great images in low light if you can focus, battery life is great
Cons: does not focus well in low light, mine is in the shop for the third time.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Love it but...

This is definitely the best camera I've ever used. Very interesting features and amazing image quality once tweaked. Also love the high ISO and shooting in the dark with my bright lens. Auto ISO also very nice, but unfortunately no 50 ISO available in that mode, which would be useful.
Video features were a logical next step. However it needs a lot of improvement before it can become a real tool for videographers. Manual controls and 24/25fr are of course part of this. A software update of the contrast focus would also help. So would a proper AWB.
And if you really want to make me happy, add some features for underwater photographers and videographers such as a preset WB and an improved Liveview mode.
Pros: excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, quiet, Quick Start-up time, Solid Operation, easy to use, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, lens focus adjustment, beautiful lcd screen
Cons: Poor build quality, Missing features/settings, atrophied video mode, raw images in neutral settings are very saturated, available only in kit version in most places, the kit lens is not up to my expectations
I would recommend this to a friend!

After owning a 10D, 20D, 40D, 50D and 5D. Everything about the camera thus far is fantastic, but I am unable to obtain consistant flash exposure no matter what I try.
Pros: excellent image quality, quiet, Quick Start-up time, good battery life
Cons: inconsistant flash metering
I would recommend this to a friend!

The camera i've always wanted, it takes great pictures of whatever I want whenever I want with little effort. The auto mode is extremely easy to use. although I'm still learning about all of its functions so far I'm extremely happy with my purchase of the T5
