Pros: excellent image quality, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, Solid Operation, easy to use, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life
Cons: Dim LCD, noisy

Excellent camera to replace EOS 1 series at 1/3 of a price. Al the features that professional photographer has ever dreamt about and then some.

First weekend with 5D MarkII

Canon is the best, most reliable equipment on the market,period! Since EOS launched it has been the absolute best equipmnet available with ground breaking innovations it makes you anxious for the next generation. My only complaint...I wish there was a custom function for silent operation in the shooting mode and not just live view. Image quality is phenomenal!!!

Rolling Shutter Issues

I purposely bought this camera for the video image quality. Unfortunately, the video skips, or has a "rolling shutter" issue. At least a third of the clips I shot had this problem, which is just to high and problematic for the money.
I know, I know, it's not a video camera. But, once they come out with the next version it should be awesome for video.
Just include; 1. fix the rolling shutter issue. 2. audio controls 3. include 24P 4. Add multi-format recording that will allow match-up with NLE software. 5. Fix the limited time allowed for video recording. I need at least 65 minutes continuous recording. 6. Include a 16 x 9 wide HD LED screen for viewing. 7. Add headphone jack.

Cons: rolling shutter in video, no audio control or head phone jack, limited video recording time

Good still camera, bad video camera

Add full manual to video recording. Auto focus is still very bad, add more focusing points
Pros: excellent image quality
Cons: Missing features/settings, lack of full manual on video, bad autofocus system

Great Camera

This is my first full frame DSLR i have not experienced any of the black spot issues mentioned in other reviews. This camera has a large LCD screen for viewing your images and checking the sharpness. Although it is a little noise when taking a snap shot it is not enough to disappoint me.
I have been waiting two years for the new 5D mark II and am very impressed with its result.

I really like the pictures that I can take with this great camera, but it drives me nuts that I can not change the photo names to anything other than IMG-####.jpg. This leads to photos with the same name.
