This camera is so easy to use and get a Great picture. I think back to my film days and my Canon F-1. I know you can't compair the two but NMHO as far as operation and picture quilty right out of the box... it can't be beat!! I really love this camera.

As a professional Photographer the 5D M II produces very marketable results, especially landscapes for advertising, which make up 90% of my work. There is little difference between some of my early 4 x 5 Transparencies. The 17 x 22 prints have outstanding detail and make fine marketable prints.After using the 5D, I was just about to return to 4 x 5 film when the Mark II was announced last year. This camera provides the detail I need.

Great camera

I think the image quality of the 5D Mark II is just amazing! I had used the Rebel Xti for the past 3 years which i also thought was very good and it is really a step up. The high ISO performance is very good. I have taken many indoor and night time shots that would have been otherwise impossible.
My only complaint is not with the camera itself but the lack of support for the Zoom Browser's Raw processing environment.
Pros: excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Quick Start-up time, easy to use, good battery life, excellent high iso performance
Cons: noisy

Best Camera For Price

After seriously reading many reviews on this camera, I decided to purchase it. It takes excellent portraits and also is excellent for scenery and even sports! My camera has also had very good battery life. This camera takes great night shots, and has no problem with the "black dot" and vertical banding after applying the new firmware update. The only con Is that there is no manual control of the video, as others have stated. I would certainly recommend this camera as an excellent product of Canon's. Hopefully they will fix this video option shortly.

Love the camera. It's priced low enough and has fantastic image quality. I upgraded from a Canon 40D to this and it was the best decision I've made. I would like to have a bit more control over the video recording, but it's not a true pro video camera so I can't complain!

Great Product

Having been in photography for almost 50 years, this is, by far, the best camera I have ever used. Crisp, clear photographs with fantastic color and great dynamic range. I bought another top brand full frame model and this tops it by leaps and bounds. With the L series lens, it is as good as it gets in this price range. Good video as well which works well in low light.

5D mk2 with wedding photography

I have been using the camera for almost three years and it does a great job. My only complaint is that it does not focus well in low lit rooms. I do mainly wedding photography and when I am taking pictures on the dance floor when the room is lit very low light the camera has a hard time to focus. The feeling when you draw the attention to the dance couple to look your way and then the shutter won,t release because it does not have a focus is uncomfortable. In movie mode it is only a manual focus. All said for my needs I enjoy using the camera and feel confident with the results.
Cons: low light focous
