Never dissapointed

After be in wedding photographer for 5 years, this SLR are one of my favorite. The color the image and the 21.1 mega pixel to work with in PS are unbeatable from any other brand at the same level cameras. I would suggest anyone even beginner photographer to try out this fantastic camera with all the setting it has and create better images you can tell right away on it's LCD. Build quality is decent compare to 1D seriers but the image aren't the old 5D which everyone complains blacks and contracts. mark 2 fixed all the problems, you'll never be dissapointed
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, easy to use
Cons: noisy, Heavy/Bulky, Complicated controls/menu
I would recommend this to a friend!

Amazing camera

I upgraded from a T1i because I wanted high ISO sensitivity. The 5DMKII fulfills this need and more. I just went to the zoo and was forced to go up to ISO3200 to take certain photos. When I came home, I uploaded the photos and I was shocked by how great the photos turned out. What an amazing camera! It's definitely heavy and I'm still learning how to use all the controls (but it's been pretty easy to navigate, since I'm coming off of a Canon dSLR.) I was initially worried about spending so much money but now I'm so pleased with my purchase!! Full frame all the way!
By the way, I haven't used the video function and I don't expect to much either, since I have a HD camcorder. However, it's a nice to have and hey, after watching House and seeing what they did with the 5DMKII, I know it takes great videos!
Pros: iso sensitivity, pretty intuitive for previous canon users, unbelievable photos, feels really well built
Cons: none yet!

I have used Canon products for the past thirty years and this camera is by far the best of all.The only issue I have is the AE lock only lasts four seconds,if you do not recompose within that time it must be enabled again, nonetheless I love it.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

Photoshop Issues
on December 28, 2008

If you buy this camera you have to upgrade to Photoshop CS4. There are no updated plug-in's for the 5D Mark II for Photoshop CS3. This is an additional cost that one may want to consider before purchasing the camera.
I have also been experiencing issues with the softer that came with my Mark II. For some reason the images are not transferring from the camera to the Mac. I have to re-download the images to edit them.
Pros: Nice features/settings, easy to use

I bought the 5d mainly for the Hd video feature.
However, everyday I keep getting more and more impressed about this camera.
The sharpness of the picture is really amazing as soon as you are using prime lenses.
I hope canon gonna release soon the firmware update with the 24p mode ( same as on the 7D).
Great camera !!!!!!!
Pros: good battery life, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Missing features/settings, noisy

Best Upgrade Ever
on February 9, 2011

Upgrade from 20D to 5D Mark II, an that is the best upgrade ever!
5D Mark II bring image quality of all of my L lens to a step up level that 20D can never achieve in term of color depth, dynamic range, resolving power, focus accuracy, accurate AWB, full frame perspective, and low light performance for both portrait and landscaping (have not tried sport photography yet).
Focus micro adjustment is a big plus to get the best out of each lens without paying expensive costs for lens focus calibration.
Much faster response, faster speed during manual HDR rapid captures. With 20D, I needs to pause and wait for the camera to complete each capture. With 5DII, no need for that. The camera simply keeps up, no matter how fast my captures are.
21MP resolution is amazing with so much details and information that the file for enlarge prints.
Digic IV technology is way ahead of the old DigicII, the image quality reflects all the advantages.
Some complains about AF system, but for me, AF works perfectly, no issue there. Way better low light performance than 20D
In short, 5DII is the best and hightly recommneded camera
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: 19-point focus

My best body

Graeat body with focusing issue. Since few mont i'm very happy user of that body. my relationship with this body was difficult at th beginning. Previously i was using 10D and 40D; 40D autofocus spoiled me and gave me to much confidence in Eos AF system. Since i got my 5D mkII i had to lear how to focus using non center AF frame. It took me some time and a lot of frustration to lean how to use it. Right now all AF frames are focusung very acuratly and repetably.
Pros: excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Solid Operation
Cons: noisy
