Excellent camera

This is an upgrade from a 20D with low quality non-L lenses. Rented L lenses while on trips for better quality photos. Decided on the 5D over the 50D. Purchased with the 24-105 f4 L "kit" lens. Very sharp photos. Very easy to learn and use. I have several 5D friends who have handled the camera and are looking at upgrading to the Mark II. The LCD screen is 4 times larger than the 20D.
This is a very nice camera. I have not seen any problems with pushing the ISO. I am amused, however, over the complaints of video pictures. If you want video, buy a camcorder. Camcorders offering still photos get the reverse complaint.

This is definitely the best camera i've ever used. I've only had time to do two portrait shoots since I've had the Mark II. Can't wait to shoot everything with this. The original Canon 5D was my favorite, but I don't think I'll ever use it again. I'll sell my 5D and put the money towards another Mark II.
The HD video mode seems really basic, but I'm still excited to have this as an extra feature. Can't wait to try out some Neutral Density Filters to somewhat control the aperture settings with Video.
Pros: Superior build quality, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, quiet, Solid Operation, easy to use, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, you won't regret purchasing this product
Cons: limited hd video functions., lacks aperture controls in hd

Fantastic Camera

I an very happy with the camera, great performance in low-light, I like the new features, Great job.
VIDEO: For the people that want to use this as video camera! The quality is fantastic, but understand it is a photo camera primarily. It is little hard to hold still, and to focus, and some more features would be good. But it is fantastic for short clips , and with the option of using the great range of eos lenses on it.
WFT-E4. I have tried the transmitter but returned it, camera and transmitter don't share battery power, instruction can be better, and more information can be provided by canon on the website. I found it hard to keep connection alive to computer over wifi, to slow for large raw, but easy to set up for FTP online or on your mac local folder. didn't try GPS or to
Pros: Superior build quality, excellent image quality, Simple controls/menu, easy to use, Lightweight/Portable

I've owned the 5D and produced many memorable images with it. I've had the Mark II for a little over a week now and am quite happy with the results. I will use it primarily for production stills for movies and theater, when it must be inside a sound blimp. I covered a theater production with the Mark II a few days after receiving it and the images are superb.
I haven't really tried the movie mode, and since I almost exclusively shoot in the native RAW mode, I;'ve not been bothered with :dotd:or banding reported by some.
Pros: Superior build quality, excellent image quality, Nice features/settings, quiet, Quick Start-up time
I would recommend this to a friend!

Astounding Low Light Capabilities

Prior to purchasing the 5D2, I had a 40D. Loved that camera, despite it being a 1.6X crop body and its mediocre LCD display screen. Moving up to the 5D2, I've discovered a whole new world has opened up to me. Coupled with large aperature lenses, night shots are unbelievable. Got several astounding shots just walking through Waikiki (Hawaii) around midnight with nothing but the 50mm 1.8II attached (no flash, no tripod). Sharp handheld shots of the moon with a 135mm F2? No problem. Moving motorcycles from the 5th floor of my apartment building? Even the license plate numbers are crisp. Now, if the 5D2 had better AWB and an AF system like the 7D, it would be the perfect camera.

Excellent Portrait/Landscape camera

After working along on a 400D for about 18 months, and having come from a film SLR background, I found myself drawn to a 135 format body. The 5DMkII fits the bill perferctly, priced in a reasonably affordable bracket, well built with stunning image quality and more resolution than you could ordinarily need, it's almost perfect. Why almost ? Well the autofocus system is antiquated to say the least. That's really my only issue with this wonderful camera. What should be noted is that the mirror slap is quite loud, not an issue for me, but some people may have problems with that (live view mode #2 solves that issue, but LV isn't always practicable).
Pros: Superior build quality, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, Solid Operation, easy to use, good battery life
Cons: noisy, poor af system

Outstanding Full Frame Performance

Upgraded to this full frame beauty after using a Rebel 450D for about a year. The improved ISO capability and full frame sensor produce nothing but the finest image quality. Full frame simply produces the best image quaility in my opinion. I now use my 450D as an excellent backup, but it cannot compete with the 5D in all respects. Modestly priced considering what you get.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Solid Operation, iso capability

Before buying the 5DMKII I had all sorts of imagination how it would/may be. Now having bought and used it for almost 8 months and shot thousands of frames both stock and wedding, I can say the 5DMKII is a superb camera for my needs. It is fast, responsive and produces some great images, with excellent high ISO settings too. It's a camera I can trust in performance and quality!
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
