Expected better

Overall this is a reasonably good dishwasher, but given its price and name brand I expected more. I have been using it for 3 months now. Very frequently it does not clean dishes well. For best results you have to pre-rinse the dishes which defeats the purpose. Its dryer is seriously lacking and the dishes are not dry at the end of the cycle. On the plus side it is very quiet and stylish. Overall if I had to do it over again, I would look at other models/brands.
Pros: Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Disappointed

I purchased this model because it had all of the features I wanted--no bottom heating element, steam injection, 3 racks, energy efficiency, half load, food grinder. It gets my dishes really clean, BUT...the top utensil trays do not stay on the top rack but continually fall down onto the middle rack; the steam feature can not be used on the half load setting, a fact that all of the literature for this diswasher fails to mention; the stemwear holder isn't deep enough to hold wine glasses and is useless; the adjustable rack settings do not stay where positioned; my dinner plates do not stay upright no matter which direction I face them; the manual is poorly written in that it does not say how to remove the adjustable parts of the dishwasher and disassemble the utensil holder and even on the last page mentions "air conditioner" instead of "dishwasher"; the racks run on plastic wheels and do not run smoothly, especially the center rack; the spray arms are cheap plastic while, at this price, I would have expected stainlesss steel; there is a distinct smell of burning plastic during the drying phase; you have to open the door to see how much time is remaining until the dishes are finished cleaning. On the plus side, the diswasher is very quiet.
Pros: Features/Settings

Exceptional Product

We love this dishwasher, the steam is an added benefit we have been looking for. It's the quietest unit by far. We also bought the LMX25985ST frig and LCG3091ST range top (this is absolutely the best cook top. We hunted for months for replacement appliances and are exceedingly pleased with all the appliances. This is our 3rd home to replace the dishwasher with only LG. and our first for the refrig & cooktop. We highly recommend the LG line to all.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality
Cons: finger prints a little hard to keep clean

Have had this for a couple of months, have used it for fine china and heavy grime. It works great for all and the results are amazing. Glad I got it.

Have had to work some with detergents but with the right detergent it seems to do a fine job. Would have liked the control panel to have had larger writing always have to run down glasses to start since the wife usually does it I do not remember where the right selection is.

Doesn't Clean Well
on October 22, 2010

Dishwasher looks great in our newly remodeled kitchen. Love the LED light inside and the tune it plays when it finishes a cycle. Problem is it doesn't clean well at all. You must pre-rinse everything that goes in or it will not get clean. If you use the third rack for utensils then the middle rack stuff will not get clean. Third rack seems to block the water from getting to the middle rack. Dryer does not work well at all. Nothing gets melted as there is no heating element, but nothing gets dry either. We have to always wash on the heavy cycle to get stuff the cleanest, but even on this cycle not everything will get clean. For the price, I am very disappointed with this dishwasher. Would not buy again.
Pros: Style/Design

hard to load bottom rack
on August 3, 2010

Despite the multiple tine positions on the bottom rack, I find this dishwasher very difficult to load. Since the tines do not align from one row to the next, it is impossible to put long items in (such as cutting boards). Also, I find that bowls are not held up straight and do not come clean. I've ordered the bottom rack from a different model (which has aligned tines), in hopes of improving loading and cleaning.
The top rack does not accomodate the diameter of my glassware, and I cannot load very much into this rack.
I've tried putting flatware in the top rack and in the flatware rack, but have not been satisfied with cleaning results.
Pros: Features/Settings
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
