Whirlpool: Poor Operation/poor service

Took 'em 8 months to fix a very loud fan. Took 2 months to fix a heat exchanger coil leaking freon & no cooling in freezer. Food spoiled.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the counter depth option- no more food lost in the deep recesses of my refrigerator. The reason for 4 stars is the water/ice dispenser. The ice seems to shoot all over unless I have a large mouthed item under & it is hard to stop it as you pull away form the lever. Other than that we are very pleased- Perhaps a different design would be less problemmatic

Disappointing Experience

I love the style of this refrigerator and find it very roomy, efficient and easy to clean. Temperature is always perfect. However, we had only had it a few months when the freezer drawer handle came off. We've repaired it several times but it continues to come off (especially with the grandkids). The ice maker quit working just as the warranty ran out. In my opinion, this model is over priced and poorly made -- not a good value.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We like the digital temperature setting display on the front door. The refrigerator and freezer is too small. The ice maker is too small and does not dispense cubes without them falling on the floor. When dispensing water, the pump unit is very loud. The refrigerator came as an option with our new home; otherwise we would not have purchased this particular model. In our previous home, our Whirlpool Gold,Side by Side, which was 7 years old, had a larger ice maker and the water dispensing motor was quieter.
