French Doors are great

Love the French doors as it allows for easy access to the things you need. And the freezer being on the bottom is convenient.

I wanted a french door, bottom freezer fridge forever. Other than the untimely delivery- its been working well since 8/2013 when we bought it. I have a few gripes about it...1) you can't stand up a juice container/milk on the shelves- they only fit on the door-- and door space is limited. 2) the Freezer light works when it wants too-- not sure if there is a trigger of something that's being missed when the door opens, but not major in the grand scheme of things. The last gripe is poor planning on my part-- the french doors were not well thought out for my kitchen set-up. It not the ideal design for small kitchen like mine, but is doable.LOVE the soda dispenser tray...great for kids juice boxes too! I LOVE the door alarm (its easy to not close the door completely...wish they had it for the freezer too!). I LOVE the large deli drawer. I LOVE having the refrigerated foods at eye sight... less time for things to linger and grow into mystery mold. I like the water dispenser-- just wished it didn't take forever to fill a glass.

Maytag refrigerator unreliable

We purchased a Maytag refrigerator 2 1/2 years ago with the expectation that we were buying a reliable, worry-free appliance. We were wrong. Since our purchase, the bottom freezer section had a pluggage in the drain which caused water to spill out to the wood floor in the kitchen. Also, the damper motor and flap in the upper compartment is noisy and sounds like it could fail at anytime. We expected more from a Maytag appliance and we were disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Problem Door/Not enough practical room for size of frig!

First, the design of this french door frig is inferior, due to the left door often not closing all of the way. It is not uncommon to find the left door slightly ajar. Second, the shelves can only adjust so much and does not provide enough height for regular items necessary to be kept in the frig. The size of the frig is deceiving; we cannot fit nearly as much as we did in our old frig with the same size. Third, the filtered water feature inside is nice, except for the fact that the left door must obviously remain open while filling a glass with water...kind of defeats the purpose of "energy efficient". The one positive is the freezer; I do like the freezer and the drawers make accessing the freezer contents easy.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

large enough with door troubles

it is easily cleaned, and capacity is good, but have huge troubles keeping doors closed. Even with alarm, we tend to leave it slightly open. Had to replace filter early. Like having freezer on the bottom, but must remind ourselves not to lean on it! Love the fast ice button, use it often!

I couldn't be happier with my refrigerator. I love the French doors & the bottom freezer. The open door alarm is a great feature. As far as esthetics, the stainless steel is beautiful & it is a perfect fit in my kitchen.My mother has always trusted the Maytag brand and I am confident that I will have this appliance for many years.
