I replaced my previous razor identical to this one because the battery did not last 2 years. However, other than that and the fact newer razors like this one no longer indicate how much battery charge remains after each shave, the razor works fine.
Pros: razor cuts well, trimmer cuts well
Cons: battery may not last 2 years, a charge level indicator is not available
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A key feature I like about this model is that it can be used both dry and wet. Although I prefer to shave in the dry mode, I really enjoy cleaning up using running water. The razor feels cleaner using water rather than brushing it out.
Pros: easy to clean, good battery life
Cons: not quite as close a shave as a razor
