It takes too long to get a close shave. I haven't used a blade since I got this new razor. I use it because of my medical and health issues. I have only used Norelco Electric Shavers all my life. Never tried another. Wish it came with a charge stand and Travel Case. That would make it a lot better for home and on the road. I have purchased an additional set of Rotary Heads so when I need them I'll have them onhand.
Pros: convient with my health issues., design is fine., swivel head helps i think.
Cons: takes long time to get close shave., charge stand would be better., travel case would make it mor convient on the road

I have used Phillips/Norelco shavers for years and have always been very satisfied. The 4500 is no exception, excellent performance, excellent quality and a good value for the price.
Pros: excellent performance., excellent quality., good value for the price.
Cons: would like a more flexible cord on the charger., charger plug in to shaver could be firmer.

Shaving is fast and close with an excellent touch to the face while in use. The shape of the razor is convenient and east to hold with good balance and style. Cleaning with water is efficient and complete leaving the instrument ready to dry and use again. Much improved over my previous Norelco which has served me for 5 years faithfully.This is a good purchase and I am very satisfied.

I am 70 years old and I have been shaving for over 55 years. Of all the razors I have used the Philips Norelco Shaver 4500 is the most efficient razor I have ever used. I have always had to shave the same area two or three times in order to get a clean shave while blade razors are messy with lathers and changing blades and all of that.
Over the years my beard has gotten even tougher and more resistant to my shaving efforts defying other razors including blade. I find that shaving with the 4500 is a once-over shave resulting in a close, clean shave even with my older stiffer beard and this razor honestly delivers. I do not regret this purchasing the Norelco 4500 and hardly recommend this razor to anyone who wants a clean shave from a no nonsense electric razor.

First I bought the Norelco with the charging stand etc. and found it was a project to shave with it. I took it back and got the one with the swivel head. It's fine. I like the ability to use shaving cream with it. That way it gives an exceptional shave. I could have saved a few more dollars by getting the one without the swivel head as I find it to be a useless option.
