This unit cuts fine, but seems under-powered. Blades are sharp after 3 weeks of usage, but time will tell if it can continue to cut efficiently.

I used Philips razors during the past 30+ years and since they became available I liked the pivoting heads, the freedom of a cordless razor and the possibility to easily clean it under running water. With the additional feature of the whole shaving head pivoting in one direction it is even easier to reach all areas.

Cons: accidentially can be switched off while in use

Exceeded expectations

After using a foil shaver for 23 years, I decided to try a rotary shaver. After a lot of research, this shaver seemed like the best bang for the buck. I was apprehensive about using a rotary shaver, but after using the AT830, I must say that i am highly impressed. Not only do I get a closer shave, but it also does not leave my skin dry and irritated like the foil shaver does. I have only used this shaver with shaving gel so far, and it provides a very comfortable shave. The shaver seems to glide right over the skin, while giving an extremely close and smooth shave. It is very comfortable to hold, and cleaning is as easy as flipping the shaver head open and rinsing under warm water. The pop up trimmer is decent. Battery life so far has been great, actually more than advertised. Would definitely consider another norelco shaver in the future.

This product can injure you

Today a sharp piece on the rotary head cut my face. This is a safety issue. Product is only one year old. I will file a complaint with the cpsc.gov. I urge others to do so as well since the product cans slice you face open without warning.
Pros: none

This is my 3rd or 4th Phillips electric razor. This one is much quieter than any of my earlier razors. When I first used it I expected to be disappointed. It was so quiet I didn't think it would have the power to cut my whiskers. I was wrong. I get a clean close shave. I have not used it wet.
