My husband's beard is very coarse and it is difficult to get a close shave. We tried this one in hopes that it would be sharper. It does fine, but just not any closer than our old Norelco.
This is the best shaver I've ever used. I use the shaver to shave my entire head and beard. It gives a quick, close shave without burning my skin or any irritation. It has a good shape and is easy to hold which is important when shaving my entire head.
Perhaps a lock or release button to close would help.
Also the on/off button turned on while in my luggage. The unit was totally dead for my morning shave. Perhaps a hard travel case would rectify problem.
I had a similar Philips shaver for several years until it gave up this summer, and find this model to be superior. Easier shave, longer charging time, comfortable to hold. A definite upgrade.
My first razor quit working after one month, was replaced with a new razor only to also quit working after about the same time. Will not recharge battiery. I'm going to corded razor.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
