I have been using the shaver for about 6 weeks (dry shave) and I wish I could say great things about it, but it just doesn't work the way I'd like. My main complaint is that it's difficult to shave my neck without getting rashes. This negative is counter-balanced with the positives: the closeness of the shave on my face, the quietness of the razor, especially as compared with a German brand I had used for years, and the ability one has to use the shaver in the shower/rinse it with water. In the end, then, I consider this an average product.
Pros: close face shave, waterproof, low noise level, ergonomic design of the unit
Cons: leaves rashes on my neck; difficult to shave neck
I've tried many electric shavers including a very expensive Braun. My Phillips Norelco 4500 is by far the finest razor I have ever owned. When in a hurry I shave dry and although I get a good shave, when I use gel I get as good of a shave as when using blades. I highly recommend this shaver.
I think it shaves quite well. My only negative comment is about the angle of the trimmer. My previous Norelco shaver's trimmer popped up at a convenient angle, but with this model one must angle the razor more to get the trimmer blade over to my sideburns. Although it works fine with a little practice, it is still a bit inconvenient.
I found it very easy to go back to an electric razor after being off it for years. Using it with foam in a wet shave mode helped in this endeavor. Now I'm off the foam and enjoying the ease of use. A really good razor!!!!
I'm 69 years old and shave everyday and have enjoyed my new Norelco tremendously. Seems every new one I get has been redesignd to improve my shaving experience. Spending less time and getting a closer shave. Thanks
