this is not up to the norelco standards I am used to. even after repeatedly going over my beard I still have to finish with a razor in most places. I am fair skinned with a medium beard, not coarse, and wanted to use only my new norelco. I tried both wet and dry with the same results.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello,
We’re sorry for the disappointment you’ve had using our Philips Norelco electric razor.
You may adapt the below given steps for best shaving technique and get good results.
• Move the shaving heads over the skin, making both straight and circular movements.
• Your skin may need 2-3 weeks to get accustomed to this Philips system.
• To prevent damage, put the protection cap on the shaver after use.
Your first shaves may not give you the result you expect and your skin may even become slightly irritated. This is not uncommon since your skin and beard need time to adapt to any new shaving system.
It is recommended to take into account an adaptation period of 3 weeks, during which you should shave regularly (at least 3 times per week) to allow your hair and skin to adapt to the new shaver.
During this period, use your new electric shaver exclusively and do not alternate shaving methods; alternating shaving methods makes it more difficult to adapt to the new shaving system.
If the problem still persists, please reach out to Philips Consumer Care on 1-800-243-3050.

I’ve used Norelco electric razors for over 40 years and they last a long time between upgrading to a newer model. I’ve only upgraded 3 times in my life and I’m almost 60 years old. I’ve just upgraded to this one and it’s the absolute best one YET. It cuts closer and faster than any other electric razor that I’ve purchased in the past. I’m extremely happy with this razor.
I have been using this Philips type of razor for a long time. The last one worked perfectly but the hinge to open at the top rusted through. I recommend you make the hinge of different material. Because of this I do not use this Razor wet nor do I rinse it.
Bottom line, it does not shave nearly as well as my old Nerelco did. It takes twice as long to shave and it still does not do nearly as well as my old Norelco. I had my old Norelco for 15 years, it was great, what happened to the shave quality?
Best electric shaver I have owned. Very close shave I prefer not to use shaving cream just dry shave. The only complaint is replacement blades are pricey.
easy to use, but it cuts very slowly. in spite of this, we think it is very good. being aable to clean it with water is the best idea yet.

My husband is in a memory-care home. He would never keep up with a brush and other cleaning equipment, so cleaning by water is ideal. We think any one would appreciate that feature since it saves so much time. '
Shaves closer than previous models I have used. I especially like the long battery life. No need to take the charge cord on the road when I'm gone for a week at a time. Even two weeks. I would recommend this shaver even to someone used to a safety razor.
