Works fine. I bought this version as it uses AA batteries-- good for travel so I don't need to carry a charger. Better yet would be a micro-USB rechargeable version. But this one is fine.
Pros: uses aa batteries
Cons: i little larger than necessary to accommodate batt
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is a beard trimmer. It trims my beard and mustache. What more can I say? I do like that it uses AA batteries, so I don't have to wait for it to charge up if it has gone dead. Just pop in a new pair.
Pros: replaceable batteries
Cons: can't think of any.

Using the same trimmers for 23 years

I bought my T-500 trimers (Blue body, not clear) in the Michigan department of corrections in late 2001 or early 2002. I used them for the entire 9 years of my incarceration for both facial hair and as my primary means of shaving my head. I chose to continue using them after my release in October of 2010--and still use them to this day as my primary trimmers! As in another review, within my first 7 or so years, I did re-solder the wires (using a DC adapter and the lead of a #2 pencil) and haven't had the issue reoccur. The motor is very weak now, however, and that's what led me to this site--I'm looking to purchase a new unit ONLY to pull the motor from it and put it in my old T-500. I can afford anything these days, but I only want what I already have.

For those who do not know, this trimmer was the only one for sale in the Ohio State Penal system back when I started my time in 2011. I was permitted to bring it home, and to this day,it still eliminates hair anywhere upon me that I do not wish to keep. the only maintenance Ive ever done is put some vaseline on the cutters when I'm finished to store it for another 2 months....May not be the recommended action to take. The only drawback is the internal wiring to the battery compartment. It moves when you open the compartment, and I had to resolder the conductors there because they pulled off it at one point.
THIS IS AN EXCELLENT PRODUCT WITH 20 SETTINGS, iT ALWAYS CUTSS MY BEARD PRECISELY AND USING THE COMB I CAN ALSO YTIM MY JSCK RUSELL TERRIER. GREAT PRODUCT, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.
