Typically outstanding Canon

I've been shooting this camera now for a few months, and it's been outstanding! The picture quality is great, and for the price, this is a very capable, powerful camera. It's also a great camera if you're thinking of moving up to a DSLR, but would rather get a taste of it before spending the money on a camera, lenses, etc. because it has many very advanced features and a great full manual mode. So you can get your feet wet, without spending a fortune. Is it an EOS 50D? No. Is it one of the best subDSLR cameras Canon, or it's competitors has to offer? In my opinion, that's a resounding yes! I've even used this camera professionally and gotten very good reviews from customers.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, good battery life, durable
I would recommend this to a friend!

I really love this camera, the zoom is unbelievable. I can do so much more with this camera. I had a Powershot A510 and a lot of the buttons and features are similar but there is so much more. I would definitely reccommend this camera if you are looking for something with a real powerful zoom but don't want to have to change lens to do it this is the camera you want to have.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, durable

Great except for lens cap

I've had this camera for a month now and am loving it so far. I am still learning the features of it and haven't had a lot of luck with my night or low-light pics (most likely this is due to user error and lack of familiarity with all of the ins and outs of the camera). HOWEVER, my one HUGE issue with this camera is the lens cap! I have already lost it. For the price of this camera, is it asking too much for them to include a lens cap that snaps on easily and is actually ATTACHED to the camera!??? Straight out of the box that little piece of plastic was practically BEGGING to be misplaced.
Cons: Poor Low-Light Performance, cheap lens cap and strap

I bought this camera to take pictures of my kids sports. I'm not a professional photographer so this camera was just perfect for me. It's a little heavy but I expected that when I bought it due to the 20X optical zoom. It's takes some playing around with to learn all the feautures but the photos I've taken so far have been great! I've turned it on and off and took many pictures and the batteries are still charged, something I was thought was going to be a problem. I love this camera!

Love the super Zoom!

PRO'S- I couldn't afford an SLR with lenses so I went with the super zoom. I am very pleased. The camera is doing what I want it to do- Sports/Action photos (my three sons are Pole Vaulters and Sprinters). Close up photos of faces (I love faces). We like to hike outdoors so I also will use it for wildlife (I have some amazing pictures from the zoo). My previous camera did not perform well indoors or in low light- this camera has fabulous Low-Light Performance AND I can still purchase and flash accessory to attain even greater performance. The video mode is extremely convenient. The versatility of the LCD view finder is a great feature- I like it for reviewing the pictures.
Cons- The controls/menu are a bit overwhelming; but even so you can pick up the camera and take amazing pictures. There are many features I have yet to learn. I was a bit unsure about using 4 AA batteries, but they lasted a lot longer than I thought they would. The camera is a bit heavy/bulky; however this assures you that you have a quality product and something to wrap your hands around as you take a picture and attempt to stabilize yourself!
I am loving this camera and am motivated to pour myself into photography. I don't think I will outgrow this camera anytime soon. I want to go back to Yellowstone!
Pros: easy to use, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, good battery life, durable
Cons: Complicated controls/menu, Heavy/Bulky

Best Camera I've Ever Had

I bought this camera after I gave my wife my SX100is. The LCD is bright and easy to see and the batteries last for 150+ shots, depending on camera settings. The wheel on the back can be difficult to use and requires some practice and the macro modes have a higher learning curve to master, but once you get the hang of it, you will take some really beautiful images. If you are brand new beginner, advanced amateur, or seasoned pro, you can't go wrong with this camera.
Pros: Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, good battery life, sd card door
Cons: Complicated controls/menu, macro mode
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very stable images

We purchased this camera based on seeing unbelievable results from photos taken during a sailing regatta using an older generation model of this camera. The photographer was sighting the starting line, hanging on to the rail with one hand, and snapping photos with her other hand. Despite strong winds, waves, and subjects and sailboats moving by rapidly, the photos were amazingly sharp, with great contrast, and the subjects' faces were popping out as if they had stopped and posed. --- We purchased the newer SX10 IS model, with similar image stabilizing and zoom features as the one that our friend used at a price that was significantly less than we expected. --- During a recent trip my wife used the camera to snap photos of the winter wonderland scenery from the passenger seat in our car, through extremely dirty windows, while we were traveling at 65 miles per hour. Amazingly, there were very few blurry photos and the camera did not seem to care that the windows were filthy. --- We are very pleased with this camera!
Pros: good battery life, excellent image quality, easy to use, image stabilization, good zoom, uses regular aa batteries, face recognition, self portrait
I would recommend this to a friend!

You Can't do Better for the Money

I love this camera. I've recently had both a 35mm SLR and a small digital point and shoot. This camera outperforms them both. It takes great closeups and stop action shots.
To those who complain it's bulky, it's much lighter than an SLR with nearly equal performance. But, it's as easy to use as a point and shoot. I especially like the variable position screen. I've been able to hold the camera up over the crowd at events and get clear pictures with no heads in them.
I recently went to a shuttle launch at Cape Kennedy with my brother who arrived with $2000 worth of SLR camera, lenses, and a tripod. I got more good pictures than he did.
Pros: good battery life, excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use
