This is a very good camera. I was looking for a camera that could take the same pictures my optical 35mm could. Depth of field is an important consideration for me. The manual settings make it very interesting. However the complexity of the camera may seem daunting. There is a learning curve that would be very steep for one with little computer experience.This comes closer than any other I've seen, at a price I can afford. Unlike many, battery life is good, even with flash. I have taken many very good pictures. I am a happy user.
Pros: easy to use, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, good battery life
Cons: Complicated controls/menu

This camera takes amazing long range photos, but is very complicated and not for anyone but a real enthusiast. There are so many buttons that it is very difficult to hold without pushing one of them by mistake. There are many many modes and choices, and to learn all it's capabilities will take the new owner weeks. Once mastered, it will do anything you ask of it. Using throw away AA batteries allows you to easily carry spares, though they last a long time. The 20X zoom combined with IS is just amazing for hand held shots.
Pros: Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable, great long range shots
Cons: Difficult to use, Complicated controls/menu, hard to hold w/o pushing buttons

Wonderful camera. Purchase before our wedding and honeymoon. This camera was easy to use and took great pictures for new users. We have wonderful honeymoon pictures and Im glad we make the choice of this camera. Just wish the newer model would have came out before we purchased this one but thats how electronics work.
Pros: Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Heavy/Bulky

This is a really great camera, I love it! So far it has worked way better than any other camera I've used. One of the many cool features on it is this setting that you can take pictures of things that are in motion! The only things I can think of to complain about are all the different settings, (it is hard remembering what button does what) and sometimes when I zoom in on something really close it gets all fuzzy and goes out of focus, but I'm sure that is probably my fault and would be a simple fix if I read the instructions all the way through! :)
Pros: easy to use, not too big, it's just cool!!
Cons: little bit awkward shaped, slightly complicated for begginers
