Love this camera, awesome. though it seems complicated all i have to do is read the manual, thats for using all the shooting modes though otherwise its a breeze. Auto, shoot and edit photos right from the camera, I'm lovin it.
Pros: Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable
Cons: Difficult to use, Complicated controls/menu, Heavy/Bulky
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Camera

Easy to use. A lot of great features. This is my first Cannon Camera and I should have brought one a long time ago.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, durable
Cons: Heavy/Bulky

Another Great Cam

This is my second camera from Canon and I must say again I am very satisfied. I presently own the SXII0 IS and I love this Cam. The SX10 IS is awsome, I've only had it for a few days and because the way it shoots pics i take it everywhere.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable
Cons: Complicated controls/menu, Flimsy Construction

The zoom in this camera is outrageous. It takes awesome pictures.

What about wireless control?

Great camera for a beginner in photography. I love all the features, but I wish it could include a wireless control feature when taking self-taken photos, or family photos where you want to be included.
Pros: Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Bright LCD
Cons: Missing features/settings, Flimsy Construction

Poor image quality

The images are "soft". Even when using the SX10is in AUTO mode, with "superfine" compression in full daylight.
In fact - image quality is noticeably worse than that of the Canon a620 I used before.

S10 IS vs S3 IS

I have loved all of my Cannons S1IS and S3IS, and now purchased the S10IS for the added pixels. I love all of the features, batteries, lens, however this does NOT have a lens cap on a string! I dont know just cannot warm up to it, still reach for S3IS
