Lacking Options
on December 19, 2008

Canon quality... Yes
Canon design... Not up to par!
With absolutely no option to add any lens adapters and / or lens filters, this camera is not worth the price for the serious shooter.
A polorizer lens is a MUST for photographing classic cars and such outdoors. A sorry drawback to an otherwise good product.
Pros: Bright LCD, excellent image quality, durable
Cons: Missing features/settings, Poor Low-Light Performance, needs lens adaptor option
I would recommend this to a friend!

Things I liked:
Very Good picture quality of the camera.
Zoom is available wile shooting videos.
Uses normal NiMH batteries.
Rotating LCD.
Things I disliked:
Rotating LCD is of little use without remote. Canon must have provided a remote with this camera. Ya they can additionally charge for that. Remote capture task is also not available.
User's Guide is bad. Still i'm unable to understand many functions.
You can capture image while recording movies but there will be no flash.
Pros: Nice features/settings, excellent image quality
Cons: Difficult to use, Complicated controls/menu, Missing features/settings, remote capture task not available
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Still Learning
on February 8, 2009

This is my newest camera since the Canon Powershot A80 came out. It has a lot of new features that I am still struggling to learn. A video tutorial by Canon would be nice. Congratulations to other reviewers that say the only problem with the lens cap is that it needs a tether. I can't even get mine to stay on with or without the 2.00 tether I bought. Cheaply made lens cap. I am afraid of damaging the lens unless they, not me, find a solution. I had never heard of a diopeter and wondered why I couldn't focus outside on the viewer (not lcd panel). A trip to the store told me what that does and it helped a lot.
Pros: Bright LCD
Cons: Difficult to use, Complicated controls/menu, Heavy/Bulky, Short battery life

There are times, when I need to have this feature.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, good battery life, durable
Cons: Missing features/settings
