Great camera. Rival my wifes' 50D SLR. I also have a 300D Rebel and have owned a A610. All have been great cameras.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable, zoom
I would recommend this to a friend!

Nice but

Would rather spend a few more dollars for the S1X IS and get HD video. Zoom is great, but ISO is limited to about 400 for any kind of quality image. EVF is an okay way to go, but would prefer to not have to depend on it.
Pros: Nice features/settings, good battery life
Cons: Poor Low-Light Performance, no hd video sx1 is, high iso noise
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Oh so noisy

Saved up for months - wanted this big ZOOM so much. Have always had Canon Cameras. Worked my S2 to the bone, bought converter lenses, spy lens expensive case anything that wold push my little faithful friend - never a complaint. Then I bought the SX10 IS. What a major disappointment. Even with a tripod the shots were so noisy it kept me awake at night wondering what to do. I sent it packing. What a sad day, but as luck would have it, I didn't get to sell my S2. Would never trade this guy in for the SX10 IS again.

Have been using it for a short while and I'm satisfied with the image quality. I love the flip out LCD! Makes it so much easier when taking self-talken photos or when using the timer from a distance, you get a glimpse of how the photo is going to come out. I don't like the bulky design, I wish it could use lithium battery would make my life so much easier. Overall I'm satisfied.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, excellent image quality
Cons: Short battery life
I would recommend this to a friend!

First Camera

This is my very first camera. I have used my parents for the past 2 years, and i finally decided that I wanted one for my own. My parents' wasn't quite as good as this one, but it fed my craving for photography for a short while. I am only 13 years old, but I am quite experienced in the subject. This camera is the best moderately-priced camera you can buy for the quality of a professional. I have used it quite a few times and I love it. I compared multiple other cameras within a $100 dollar range and this one came out on top by a landslide. My favorite feature would definitely have to be the lens. The range is enormous!! I have never seen a one-lens camera with such a distance. One thing i don't like is I'm not sure if the image stabilizer is working. I have to lug around my tripod to make sure I get the still picture I want. Maybe you just have to turn it on, which I hope I will find out soon. Overall, I love this camera. Thanks, Canon!
Pros: easy to use, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, durable
Cons: Complicated controls/menu, Heavy/Bulky, Short battery life
I would recommend this to a friend!
