no good way to keep up with lens cap, uncap and try to clip it to cam. strap, very hard. No way to place a UV filter to lens for additional protection
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable
Cons: no filter threads to protect lens
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bought this camera just before a two week cruise to the Baltic and ended up taking nearly 1500 pictures with it. It was perfect. Many of the pictures were in low light and had to be taken without flash in museums. They came out great. At the same time the terrific zoom allowed me to take detail pictures from far away. Perfect for taking pictures of historical buildings and distant objects. The image stabilization worked well in both the telephoto and low light situations. I watched other people taking pictures with very expensive SLRs and they had to juggle one or two extra lens to get the same pictures I was getting with one. I even got some great pictures from a moving bus using the “sports” mode. I am strictly a point and shoot person and I found this camera delivers everything from dramatic ocean sunsets to candid pictures of people simply by pointing and shooting. In crowded venues the ability to articulate the LCD viewer was great because I could hold the camera over my head and still see the picture I was shooting. Perfect camera for vacation picture taking.
Pros: easy to use, Nice features/settings, Good Low-Light Performance
Cons: Short battery life
I would recommend this to a friend!

Long time Canon user replaced the S2 IS with this camera and got quite a shock. It does have some great features such as an awesome zoom and good image stabilization but this comes at the expense of image quality. It has a hard time with focus and consistently overexposes highlights particularly in bright sun. The level of noise in images is almost unbearable and colors are very poor when compared to the S2 which was such an awesome camera that 3 of my friends purchased it and one even survived a night in the pouring rain and lives on till this day. Mine drowned in the ocean. Unfortunately the SX10 simply must go. For just recording a family vacation this camera is actually a good value but for anyone with more discerning taste in image quality the SX10 won't cut it.
Pros: easy to use, Nice features/settings, awesome zoom, good image stabilization
