Lacks certain features

The camera seems to be a good quality piece but for one thing I've found so far. You cannot use any filters on the camera because the lens mount was not made for any filter additions. Bad choice by the design people who did this. The use of a UV filter would be very nice but it can't be done.
Pros: Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable
Cons: Difficult to use, Complicated controls/menu, Missing features/settings
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very Nice Camera. Best out of the super zoom bunch. Nice Telephoto zoom and wide angle zoom range Nice Vari-angle LCD screen Nice sterio microphone
Wish it didn't had chromatic aberration (Fringes): caused by high zooming lense. Wish it had HD Video and AVCHD compression Wish it had Rechargeable Battery wish it was smaller and lighter
Pros: vari-angle lcd, wide and telephoto lense
Cons: Heavy/Bulky, chromatic aberration, no hd or avchd, no rechargable battery
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is an amazing camera

I started with a very small point and shoot Kodak when I first got into digital photography. When I decided that it was going to be my life's pursuit I wanted to upgrade to a better camera. I could not however afford an SLR so I started looking at cameras one step below SLR's and I foolishly bought another Kodak. I was extremely dissatisfied with it and promptly returned it to the store. I did a little research and found the Powershot SX10 IS and quickly fell in love. Once I got it home and starting reading the directions(which you have to read in order to be able to use the camera to it's full potential) I fell even more in love with this camera. It has some amazing features, like macro and super-macro settings, an aquarium setting, a foliage setting, you can do some interesting color effects right in camera, it has an image stitching setting for panoramic shots, there really are too many really great features to list here. I love the LCD that you can swivel around to be able to see what your shooting when the back of the camera or eyepiece is not in a position to be viewed. I do not have a lot of experience with taking photos but the few that I have shot so far with this camera look professional. I took a shot of a squirrel through a glass door from six feet away that looks like it came from a book. I have had no problems in low light which some other reviews that I have read have stated that they did. I really can't say enough good things about this camera as far as features and ease of shooting goes. The only things that may affect some peoples views on this camera are that it's rather heavy and it picks up every little shake, especially when you have it at full zoom, so you absolutely need to have a tripod or monopod unless you have really steady hands which I do not. Also as previously stated you can not pull this camera out of the box and start using it, you really need to read the book that comes with it so that you can use all of the features. If you are looking at getting an SLR but are balking at the price look at this camera. Unless you are going to be doing photography as a profession you really don't need to have all the different camera backs and lenses. This wonderful camera does everything an SLR does and all you have to take around with you is the one piece of equipment. It will forever be with me even when I move into the professional sector.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, good battery life, durable
Cons: Heavy/Bulky

Awesome just awesome. I bought the SX10IS to go on vacation to the Canadian Rockies. I have never taken such great pictures in my life. I could not put the camera down as each night I would look through the pictures I had taken during the day... Now that I am back from vacation, I take my camera EVERYWHERE with me. You can't go wrong with this camera, (it even brings out the "artist " in you!).
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance
