Surprisingly Impressed

After reading many reviews of at least 10 digital cameras with features I considered important to me, I settled in on the SX10is.
From the very first test pics that I took, I was pleasantly surprised. In the review literature there was an example of the optical/digital zoom capabilities. I was skeptical until I had a chance to try the zoom limits myself. If anything, the sample was understated.
Using the auto mode is sufficient for most applications. I have had very good results in all lighting conditions. I wish there was a way for me to add some photo results to this review to show my satisfaction with this camera and it's performance.
I am using a 4 gig memory card and have not even come close to filling it up after 600+ pics. Battery life is above average and the use of AA alkiline batteries is convenient.
My only complaint, if you could call it one, is there is no secure way to store the lens cap except to put it in my pocket.
All in all an extremely good camera, easy to use, superb picture quality, in an affordable package.
Signed,
Another happy Canon customer
Pros: easy to use, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable
Cons: no lens cap warning, no convenient lens cap holder

Love this Camera

I bought this camera about 3 weeks ago, and I love it. I was looking for something that would take great photos, and still be easy enough to use (i am not an electronics wiz). I have taken tons of photos, and even took a short movie while riding in a car; this camera has more features than my last one. The picture quality is Phenomenal. It is a little bulkier than the little point and shoot cameras but you would expect that with a higher quality camera with a 20x zoom.
I was a little reluctant because it used regular batteries, but I have decided it's better then a rechargeable pack, it is easier to carry extra batteries then the charger, and easier to replace the batteries when they go dead then to recharge. It is also easier and more economical then buying a new battery pack, I am sure they will not stop making AA batteries. I will not have to worry about missing another picture do to dead batteries. yea....
I could not be happier.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, durable
Cons: Heavy/Bulky

I can't say enough about this camera. Easy to use and the pictures are amazing. If I had only one complaint it would be about the grip to hold the camera. After just 7 days of continuous picture taking, the finish is peeling off.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life

Excellent Camera

This is an excellent camera, well worth the money. I go to a lot of concerts and love taking pictures at shows and this camera does an excellent job. The zoom is range on this camera is amazing. The picture quality is excellent. They have also greatly improved the video function. The video is crystal clear and most importantly, the sound quality has improved drastically. The only complaint is that they had to make the camera bigger to compensate for the zoom so it is definitely heavier and takes up more room.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, good battery life, durable, excellent video/sound quality
Cons: Heavy/Bulky

Canons on the right track

I left the HP crowd when I purchased my first Canon Printer. I have thoroughly enjoyed my experiences with Canon products, their service, quality, and reliability. My search for a Digital Camera of course began with Canon. The reliability and quality of the pictures were as good as I expected. If you use the newer high quality rechargeable batteries, you will find long battery life to go along with the awesome pictures that you are taking. You can't go wrong with Canon.
Pros: easy to use, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality

The SX10 is a fantastic camera and is very well rounded in many aspects. It's 20x optical zoom makes those extra far shots simple to get at a great true quality. Simply just holding the camera gives you a very powerful feel as if you have the power to get every picture just right. Excellent specs and beautiful design as usual from Canon.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality

I’m a mason contractor who specializes in building restoration. Most of the buildings I work on are several stories high. Bidding jobs with this camera is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I can zoom in on a settlement crack on the fourth floor of a building and not miss a detail. Not only has it improved my bidding and saves me time and energy. My customers appreciate the crystal clear pictures of the work that needs to be preformed on their building. It give them greater understanding of the scope of work that needs to be preformed. This is a great camera for anyone who needs diversity in their photo taking.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, good battery life, durable
Cons: Heavy/Bulky
