power shotsx10is

I have a 35 millmeter camera that has been sitting on the shelf for years. I love the ease of operation of the power shotsx10is. It will do about anything my 35 millmeter camera would do. I am strictly an amature and I found the it extremely easy to begin taking quality pictures with the powershot sx10is digital camera. I am extremely satisfied with the product and will be recommending it to my friends who are in the market for a digital camera.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance
Cons: Heavy/Bulky
I would recommend this to a friend!

I just upgraded from a canon 3.2 powershot and this new camera is amazing. The zoom and the image stability function have allowed me to take pictures I never thought I could...I even got great photos of the moon's craters.
Highly recommend !
Cons: lens cover not attached

Pocket Battleship

The SX 10 is a pocket battleship: in one package you have a range of lenses like a SLR + a bag of lenses. I look at my old 35 mm and the whole set of lenses and think how much effort it was to have the right lens on at the right time.
The image stabilization works great; the other day, a coyote was out back eating scraps of food. Knowing how spooky they are I shot at 560 mm (35 mm equivalent) hand held through a window and the shots came out great.
I've, also, taken some shots in challenging lighting conditions and was pleased with the results.
All in all, if I had just 1 camera to take to shoot a wide range of photos the SX 10 is it.
Pros: excellent image quality, good battery life, wide telephoto range, image stabilization
Cons: Complicated controls/menu, filter issue, weak flash
I would recommend this to a friend!

Wonderful Camera

This is my first Canon camera, but it's my third digital camera. I am amazed at the quality of the photos I get with this camera, even taken through a window with a screen. Even without using the advanced features, I get GREAT photos. So far, this is by far the best camera I've ever owned. Additionally, the battery life was much better than I expected it to be - especially when compared to my other cameras.
Pros: easy to use, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, good battery life
Cons: need a reliable way to keep track of lens cover

Excellent all around Camera

This camera offers the ultimate in flexibility. The 20X optical zoom is fantastic and the image stabilization allows you to use it under many circumstances. 10MP image size allows for image manipulation after the fact. The camera powers up quickly. The drawbacks: there is the typical delay from the time you press the shutter button until the image is captured and the lens lacks the ability to add filters. Overall, this camera approaches SLR capability at a fraction of the price and without the headaches of hauling around multiple lenses.
Pros: easy to use, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable
I would recommend this to a friend!

good value

I wish the camera had a raw or tiff option. THe zoom is really great but maybe a little too fast making it difficult to stop exactly where I want to some of the time. so far I have only shot a little over 500 photos with this camera but I find that I would rather carry it and not my EOS. I like not having to change a lens and finding a place to put the lens while out in the field and not having to worry about dirt or water getting into the camera while changing lenses.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life
Cons: no raw or tiff option, not sure of durability, lens cover hard to set in place

Great cameras

The only missing feature I wish this camera had is the ability to screw on a filter. Protecting the lens, of a fixed lens camera that costs this much, should have been included. I am very pleased with the picture quality. I also like the fact that you can use AA batteries, and not a special battery like many cameras. The flash really shortens the battery life.
Pros: easy to use, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance
Cons: Short battery life

Great Camera

II bought this camera as an Xmas Present for myself and as is obvious from my rating I am totally pleased with it. It has so many features and functions I have not explored them all and possibly never will. The beauty of it is any one who has ever used a digital camera can take it out of the box and immediately start taking pictures, while still having every feature I can think of for the advance photographer. The main reason I chose it was the 20X optical zoom and that works very well, even at maximum range. I don't see how anyone could go wrong with this camera.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, good battery life, it appears durable but i haven't had it long, so far i have found no cons, it is compact for what it is
I would recommend this to a friend!
