Like most cameras today, this one has more features than I'll ever use. My only real complaint is the inability to use a filter with tha lens shade attached. It would have been easy to thread the lens barrel for a filter and still have the lens shade bayonet like Canon has done on there SLR lenses for many years. That said, this is a great camera and well worh the money.

Good Camera

I recently purchased this camera as I am going on a trip to Alaska. We wanted a camera with a good zoom and that was not that complicated. We did not want to spend the money on a SLR and instead decided to look at some power zoom cameras. We compared several different models and I did a lot of research. We finally decided on the Canon based upon the reviews and the fact that we have been happy with our Canon A95 for the last 7 years. I have taken about 100 photos with the camera now and it seems very easy to use. The photo quality is superb. There is some distortion though on fully zoomed shots while hand held. This is easily avoided though by using a tripod or monopod. I took a really nice picture of the full moon last week. I also like the numerous features and settings that are available. Sometimes it is best to use other settings and the ISO 3200 really works good for fast moving objects. I got some nice photos of cars travelling at 55mph+ and you could see great details. I also used this setting for a photo of a hummingbird at a feeder. There was not a whole lot of detail in the wings but it was a decent picture any ways.
Pros: easy to use, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality
Cons: Heavy/Bulky, no lense cap cord

I got a Canon Powershot from a local store...straight out o the box it was wonderful! No trouble at all for this amatuer to come out swinging and hit a home run with this camera! Easy to use, even easier to get great shots with the 20X zoom. My friends have all been commenting on how great the camerawork is on my photos that I upload to my favorite social networking site...but I didnt have to work hard for it at all. The cameras auto focus feature really helped me along! Thanks Canon for yet another fantastic product!
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable

this camera is incredible. I don't know where to start. I always admired the quality of my wedding photos and always wondered if I'd be able to get a camera that doesn't cost pro level but performs as such. This camera really delivers it. I feel that I can now reproduce the same quality shots w/o having to pay some professional to do it for me. I am considering in investing in some filters to enhance the mood of the picture. This camera feels rock solid and abit on the heavier side. But this is what I expected. So it should not be noted negatively. Just get one and you'll see.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable
Cons: none

I love the 20X zoom! I also am very pleased with the quality of my photos in low light situations. I take a lot of photos of our High School Marching Band, at night, with field lighting, from a distance. I have been extremely happy with the quality of my photos. I find the camera fairly easy to use, and it has a whole lot of options if you care to use them, but even on "auto" the quality of my photos is great. I considered a DSLR, but decided that I just didn't want to mess with all the manual settings. I am quite satisfied with the quality from this high performance camera! I am SOOOOOO thrilled with my camera, I couldn't be happier!!
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, good battery life, good video quality
Cons: Heavy/Bulky

Great Camera with problems
on November 10, 2009

This is the most unusual camera I have ever had. The telephoto lens is magnificent supported by the stabilization program. However, the basic problems with it are the terrible buttons and wheels to control the functions. It is impossible to change the lightness and darkness with the wheel around the menu ok button without changing the ISO, numbers of photos or the Macro. I LOVE this camera and am excited using it. I have a 35mm with a bunch of lenses and don't get as good pictures. Too bad the functions are so poorly designed.
Pros: Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, good battery life, durable
Cons: Difficult to use, Complicated controls/menu, Heavy/Bulky
