What I was Looking For

I shot with film for over two decades without changing camera model or lenses. The SX10 is my tenth digital camera. Besides my "A" Series Canons, I went through two "S" series cameras before I preordering this SX10. It was the natural progression from "S" cameras. I love the 28 - 560mm focal length range and the closed system of a Point and Shoot camera (no threat of dust on the sensor). This camera not only has a decent macro but also a great Super Macro at f2.8 that allows closeups to within touching the subject of the shot.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, great super macro, contained point and shoot unit, small enough for me to carry all the time
Cons: don't recommend using strap storage of lens cap

Best camera i have owned

The picture quality is excellent. I am able to take pictures at maximum zoom with no blur. The camera feels solid. It is easy to hold. I really like the photo stich option. i am a csual photographer. I take picture of wild life and landscapes and this camera is the best ive used.
Pros: easy to use, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, durable
Cons: Complicated controls/menu

Certainly suits all my needs. I have a DSLR, too, but hate having to change lenses or having the wrong one and no time to switch. The supermacro is just as amazing as the ultra-zoom and the digital zoom isn't terrible. It isn't great for low-light pictures unless you have a tripod. My biggest complaint is that I often accidentally hit some of the buttons near the thumb rest on the right side, but part of that is because of my arthritic, crooked right thumb! Also, that flimsy little "Digital" cover on the right side looks as if it may soon be a goner, even though I don't use it. I'm not crazy about that little wheel, tend to hit macro or ISO when I don't want to, but I'm getting used to it.

I bought this camera in March of this year so I could take it on vacation in April. It is by far the best camera I have owned. It is very easy to use and the quality of the pictures is tremendous. The 20X zoom makes you realize that this is not an ordinary camera and even using the maximum zoom, the photos still come out crystal clear. Choosing this camera was the best decision I made.

Cons: Poor Low-Light Performance

I bought this camera with the money I got, The price was up but I fell in love with the camera the minute I saw it. My dad even is jealous. I soooo recommend it.

Being accustomed to older point and shoot cameras in this price range I've been overjoyed with the capture speed of the SX10 IS. I never miss the right moment.
Once Canon offers a DSLR with an articulating LiveView LCD I'll be there in a heartbeat—until then the SX and G series are the way to go for versatile shooting.
Pros: Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, fast action, broad focal range
Cons: Heavy/Bulky, no lens protection

Love it but.....

I like the camera but it is hard to use in macro mode. It will sometimes focus and other times it will not. I have taken some beautiful pictures and I am able to hand it to others in the auto mode and they have taken great pictures too.
Pros: Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life
Cons: Complicated controls/menu, Poor Low-Light Performance, poor close up performance

Amazing Camera

I got this for an anniversary gift and I was amazed how easy it was to use out of the box. After playing around with it for an hour, I was already using advanced and custom settings. I get professional quality pictures and I think the cost is more than reasonable for what you get. The video camera is very high quality. Overall I'm very impressed.
