Love this camera

I have had this camera since March 2009 and it has been used/abused alot. I am new to photography and found this camera to be the best bang for my beginner buck. It takes great pictures in all kinds of settings and is built like a tank. It is helping me learn more about digital photography and I feel I will be of miles ahead of the game when I invest in my first DSLR.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, durable

Like camera a lot. Takes very good pictures and was worth the cost of the camera.
Pros: Nice features/settings, easy to use
Cons: uses aa batteries

this camera is far better than any pocket digital, the zoom on it alone is amazing. Sharp pictures and great movies. Also uses AA batteries, I bought 2 one for me and one for my son.
Pros: everything works great
Cons: lens cap is so-so

the power shot sx 10 is a greait camera it takes the most beautiful pictures i have ever seen, i am very happy with this camera.

Great P&S camera

This is my 3rd Canon digital point and shoot and it's by far the best lens range of the three (I gave one to a friend and still use my other PowerShot). I carry the SX10 in my saddlebag every time I ride my HD and especially appreciate the wide angle end of this lens; gets the scene as well as the bikes. I also like being able to swivel the camera and still be able to see what I'm shooting. In addition to using it for pleasure shots, I use it at work for pics of various test setups that go into test report layouts for the engineering deptartment. And the fact that it uses AA batteries (you can get them anywhere) is a real plus. I read in another review that someone thought it a CON that this unit didn't have a rechargable battery = you can use rechargable AA batteries, I do.
Though it's not a deal breaker, I would have appreciated an eyelet on the lens cap to attach a small strap to keep the cap tied to the camera. As it's set up now, you could loose the cap; I put it in my pocket, but blow it off prior to reattachment.
If you are looking for an excellent point & shoot that is a bit more versatile than a "fit in your pocket" type that can do wide angle as well as telelphoto, this unit will not disappoint you.
Pros: excellent image quality

I love This Camera

I fell in love with this camera the first time I used it! The zoom lens if fabulous. I take a lot of wild life photos and this camera brings the wild life right to me! The color is bright and vivid. I find it easy to use. I especially love taking movies with this camera. The movies always turn out great. I love all of the features and best yet, I don't have to carry a lot of lens and accessories with me every where I go, like you do with an SLR camera. I would choose this camera over all Digital SLR camers!

Nice Up grade

So far this has been a very pleasant experience for me. My first digital could not do action shots and had other limitations. My Cannon has produced some outstanding shots w/extreme quality. For beginner or a more experienced photographer, this is a fun camera and not too intimidating.
One item I would like to see improved is the lens cap. I have had mine get caught a couple of times and fall off the strap. Maybe a teether could be added to keep from loosing ,or dropping it.

Great Nature Pictures....

I bought this a few weeks ago and it takes some awesome pictures. I am still learning on it. I had another canon and a tripod was recommended for it but this one takes great shots without it. I purchased a little cord that attaches to the lens cap and will not have to worry about loosing it.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, not too heavy for me, you can use rechargeable batteries
