The camera was much better than what I expected. When people see the photos I've taken with the 20X optical zoom, they can't believe the quality could be so good. I have had many cameras in the last 60 years, but this is the best.
Pros: Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, good battery life

This was an update for a "carry wherever I go" camera. Quality of images much improved over G7 I had previously-particularly low-light. Raised flash makes significant difference. The 20x optical zoom is huge on this type of camera.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable

Can't Have everything But close

I have enjoyed the camera with some enjoyment and some dissatisfaction. I am glad we bought this type camera vs the pocket camera. The 12 X zoom is awesome. The picture taking is always a learning process and nothing is realy ever easy with this gizmos. The con is Though the lens cover is garbage- should have had some type of shower cap type cover to go over the lens instead of the cheap plastic cover that keeps falling off. The battery compartment is difficult to open and close without fear of breaking something.

Great Point & Shoot

A great camera with closely feature compared SLR's. Swivel LCD acesses thoses creative shoot from positions, while the full color viewfinder allows you the quick find and shoot feature of more expensive cameras. The picture quality on lower ISO setting are fantastic, also a good lens for medium telephoto work. A perfect fit point & shoot before you step into the world of digital SLR's. Another great field champion!
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable

I just love my new camera because I can capture GREAT picture's and/or video on just the video card! It's nothing to download the pictures or video. It really saves time and money not having to buy the tapes!
The 20X zoom works great when taking shots of the grandkids at functions that I can't get close enough too.
The stabilazation feature is awesome! We recently went to our State Fair and I got great pictures of our granddaughter on a fast ride without a blur. I also got a great shot of her throwing a ball on field day and the ball looks like it is floating in mid air!
If I had a magic wand and could change anything, I would make it smaller. However, if you compare what I am getting to a SLR camera, it is MUCH SMALLER! If I had another camera, I wouldn't have the ZOOM and I would have to carry my video camera. It's like getting 2 for 1!!!
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, good battery life, durable

I have had all the S models leading up to this one and have enjoyed them all. This camera has a great feel, I like the fact that it will shoot at 28 mm and I really like the zoom, I find it easy to use and the quality of photos is very good. this is the first S that had a decent lens cap, but the fact that you cannot use a filter on this camera is unforgivable, all the old S models would accept a filter. Canon needs to come up with some kind of adapter so you can put a filter on, they would sell a lot of them. overall like the S1, S2, S3 and S5 this is a very good camera.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable, good looking camera
Cons: cant attach a filter
