I got the white carbon fiber for my white iPad air and it looks really cool. The iPad is less slippery with the skin. It was pretty easy to install as well. I like that it comes with a warranty so if i ever peels off I can get it replaced.

I bought a Apple Smart Case when I bought my new iPad Air. It's nice, but it's a pain holding open the top cover whenever I want to use the iPad. And since I only really use the iPad at home, I didn't really need a whole case. When I saw the carbon fiber skin on the Bodyguardz website, I thought it looked really good and would be something to protect my iPad from normal home use. I assumed it wouldn't be as nice in person as the pictures, but I was wrong. If anything, it looks even better in real life! It's cut perfectly, was VERY easy to put on and gives my iPad an even higher quality look than if it was naked. I am very picky with my iStuff but I love this and recommend it highly.

Tablet cases are subject to individual preferences--it depends what you want.
The Bodyguardz Carbon Fiber Skin is super thin and lite. Feels nice (not too slick, not too grippy.) However it doesn't provide shock protection, and the corners are unprotected. (If that's important to you, get a case, not a skin.) It's a challenge to apply, getting it square on the tablet.

The iPad Air skin was exactly as advertised. Good quality. Fit perfectly!!! I couldn't be more pleased!!! Let me know when you get more colors, blue and pink. My wife and daughter want them!!! A lot of marketing and talk is thrusted into the campaign for cases for devices such as your iPad Air. If you are like me, you realize that is unnecessary and does not compliment the design aesthetics of your device very well.
Body Guards here, on the other hand, has made a product that suits the dyed aluminum of your device just beautifully. As a double, it also happens to be on of the most scratch resistant material I've ever seen.
For those (like me) that like their smart covers, fear not, this carbon fiber backing does not hinder or inhibit the magnets on your cover. I may not use the front cover, but the backing is worth the money.
I'd recommend this product only if you know your iPad will never be subject to gravity, and a hard surface. If you have a feeling this scenario could happen even once, look into a case then. These guys fit the bill to T when you are trying to protect against surface scratching.

I can be a little tricky to apply the skin, but once you do, it really makes for a cool looking iPad. It's also nice to know that nothing is going to scuff or ding the iPad's chassis. That fact that it still works with Apple's Smart Cover makes it even better.
