Comes with wrong bolts
on June 5, 2010
Posted by: Dave
This product ships with the smaller "VESA M4" bolts, but the TV that matches this product -- according to Sanus's MountFinder and Best Buy's blue-shirt sales guy -- uses "VESA M8" bolts, which are much larger.
So, this requires a trip back to Best Buy on a miserable, rainy day instead of snuggling in in front of our new Samsung 26" LED UN24C4000 TV.
Thus my low rating for 'Easy Installation'; I'm including the extra road trip. Errrgh!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love the mount but the directions are not very clear if this is your first time installing a wall mount. I have installed a mount before so it wasn't so hard. The directions are pictures and do not tell you how to center the TV on the wall. Over all that is the only bad thing thing I can say.
Pros: Durable, Close to Wall
Cons: directions are not clear

Great TV Mount

I purchased this TV mount to mount a 19" flat screen TV in my RV. The mount is very solid and carries the TV with ease. Mounting it in the RV was a snap and assembly was a cinch. The extension arm is long enough that I can view the TV from anywhere in the RV. It is a nice mount and I'd recommend it to anyone.
Pros: Easy to Use, Durable
I would recommend this to a friend!

Poor Instructions & Tilt Slips
on October 1, 2011

The instructions lack a basic diagram of dimensions. This would not only make installation quicker, but also more accurate. Instead you are stuck measuring distances from wall monting holes to the monitor mounting holes to determine where the mount on the wall needs to be in order to be the right height. Which leads to an installation where my monitor is now about an 1" lower than I was shooting for.
The bolts for mounting my monitor did not work. I have a flat mounting surface, but the bolts provided bottomed out in my monitor, so I had to add spacers. Could not use the spacers provided, since the longer bolts bottomed out as well.
Once installed the arm works as expected, and is fairly flexible with regard to position (except height). The problem I have with this mount during use is the poor design of the tilt control. I understand you want to be able to dial in the tilt of the monitor for the intended use, but once you have the tilt you want you should be able to lock it in. I have tightened the friction for the tilt as tight as I can possibly make it with the silly winged bolt, and the monitor continues to tilt forward over a fairly short period of time. If the arm is extended the monitor eventually ends up pitched all the way forward. My monitor is nowhere near the weight limit for the mount, so I don't understand why this mechanism is so poorly engineered.
I will probably work around the tilt issue some way, but I shouldn't have to engineer a solution.
Pros: flexible
Cons: Low Quality, Difficult to Use
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Mitch -- Thank you for your review of the SF213. SANUS does offer a Height Finder tool that helps you place your TV at your desired height by giving you specific hole locations where you drill. It can be found at www.sanus.com

Awesome Mount

I just purchased and installed the Sanus sf213 for my home office desk monitor.
Having my monitor mounted above my desk frees up an amazing amount of desk space! It also allows me to easily position my monitor, and more precisely adjust the viewing angle and distance, which is really nice.
