Fantastic Piece of Technology

Extremely pleased with my purchase of this LG 60" Plasma! I did a ton of research and found nothing even close in this price range.
I'm technical, so I compared the specs with brands and models in all price ranges. Nothing compared in my opinion.
This TV has to be one of the most underated and best kept secrets on the market today. Do your research and compare the specs. The only TVs that begin to compare cost several thousand dollars more!
I spent about two hours configuring the set to my specifications. Do a search on "Tanveer Chaudry's user settings on the 6500" and you will find a review done by a professional technician that explains how to use custom settings to configure the set. It's worth the extra time and effort. Then use the Picture Wizard to adjust each setting to your liking.
Once you have done that, go through every setting to customize the sound, aspect ratio and anything else you can find to fine tune the TV to perform the way you want it to. You won't be sorry. It is well worth putting forth the extra effort to get every detail just right.
What you wind up with is an amazingly accurate picture with a full range of beautiful colours amd a very sharp, detailed viewing experience. I've never seen anything like it!
I am one of those that prefer plasma over LED. That's what first drew me to LG and this model. Dark scenes are incredibly clean and detailed with various shades of gray and black. You can actually see what is going on!
Ignore anything anyone says about the sound. It's a television. What do you expect? I connected it to my 900 watt 5.1 Surround system. This completed my home theatre experience.
Friends and neighbors are green with envy. They all spent much more and have smaller screens, dull colours and streaking during fast action scenes. I experience none of that and I likely paid a third of what they did.
Believe me when I say, you will not be dissapointed. I have no regrets whatsoever and enjoy movies, concerts and music videos with unbelievable clarity and sharpness. Deep accurate colours. Clean fast action without streaking or blurring.
I am very happy with my purchase and plan to purchase another LG television for another room. In bright light or in a dark room, the picture quality is stunning. I never believed I could be the envy of the neighborhood with my home theatre setup. This was the final piece of my configuration and has given me the status I have always dreamed of.
LG, you did it this time. You created a viewing experience like no other at a price point that the average person can afford!

I bought this TV for my bedroom. The picture is so sharp I now see all the flaws in peoples skin. The colors are fantastic. I can lay in bed and watch my Netflix account! Hooking up to the internet was tricky at first. My TV did not see my wireless router but saw all my neighbors routers. My computer saw my wireless router but the TV did not. Turns out that I had to do a hard reset on my router and problem was gone! The TV hooked up to my router very quickly and after that no problems. The blacks are really black and the contrast is really good. I was so surprised by the sound from this TV that I returned the sound bar I bought. For the bedroom the sound is really good in my opinion, the living room that is another story. There are so many ways you can adjust the picture and sound to your liking. There are lots of smart features, honestly I have so much to watch between my blue ray, satellite dish, and Netflix that I have not needed to investigate the other apps... may be one day when I am bored and run out of stuff to watch. The screen is glossy so if you have a light source in the room you will see it reflected. Since I like to watch TV in a dark room this is not a problem. The TV does give off a small amount of heat but in the summer the AC can handle it and in the winter it helps cut the chill, no deal breaker (not like it is a blast furnace). I am very happy with this TV. The instructions are a little vague in some areas but I just played with the controls until I figured things out (not like I am going to blow anything up). To think 5-10 years ago a TV like this was $10K or more, wonderful bargain.

We couldn't be happier with our new tv. It is very easy to setup and use right out of the box. I liked the walk through features to help me get the perfect picture for our living room. It works fantastic in a bright living room and the color and clarity just pop.

This was my second flat panel and first Plasma. I had heard that the glare was present on the plasmas but took a chance with it. I have not been disappointed! The picture quality is excellent with an acceptable amount of glare that through positioning of both yourself and the tv can live with easily. I have this in a room with 4 windows near it and an overhead fan with 3 lightbulbs. Not the best situation for the plasma but I am wholly satisfied with it. Probably 70% of the time is watched at night anyway. LOL. Smart features are nice and work excellent even with the laggy wireless dsl that I have. I only have one complaint and it isn't a big deal, but I wish you could run the tv speakers and use the optical out at the same time. I don't have the best surround and it helps with the center channel for voices but like I said not a big deal.
I recommend it highly!

I enjoy the features, including the "do it yourself" Picture Wizard II... so simple, the calibration process is a "do it yourself" breather. The 600HZ refresh offers crystal clear lines and NO fades, shadows or blurs during fast moving scenes. Truly a refreshing experience, this TV is incredibly affordable and does not disappoint. Invest in it and you will truly get your money's worth for the effort!

Only way to describe picture is "OMG". The picture is too good. It glaringly shows up any flaws or bad special effects. I Watch only HD movies now. HD Nature films are like having the jungle in your living room.
