Perfect for our house

We drink a lot of soda and hated taking up the space in our kitchen refrigerator.
When we remodeled our kitchen, we purchased the beverage center and inserted it into our cabinet profile near the dinner table. It was the perfect thing for our family.

Ive had this fridge in service for about 18 months. Every once in a while I have to completely unload it, haul it outside, and defrost it.

Not self defrosting in my experience

I've had this unit it for over a year. Because it is beneath the counter I didn't see there was almost of an inch of ice built up on the back wall. The manual says "Automatic Defrosting: The model uses the compressor on/off cycling to defrost automatically (compressor stop, temperature rises)." That has not been my experience. I had to pull it out, unplug and mop water for more than a day. Now I am considering just using it as a wine rack and putting a second refrigerator in my basement. (And you better believe it would not be a GE.)

Failed after only 14 months

This unit stopped cooling after only 14 months of use. The compressor still ran, but no cool air. No wonder GE stopped making this model. Unfortunately this was installed by my general contractor during a home remodel, so I had no choice in the make/model. I would not recommend these type of GE products at all.

Looks great and gets drinks cold enough. Does not work well in a warmer environment (85 degrees f) as it stay very hot on the side and runs hard to maintain temp. Also the thermostat controls are not working correctly. Will not let me adjust temp setting up or down from 45 degrees f.
