The unit stopped working and it never worked well.I would not recommend these type of GE products at all.No wonder GE stopped making these and sold all the cheap products to customers

compressor died after 3.5 years

I'd like to give this a good rating. I cannot. I expected the compressor to last at least 10 years; it died after only 3+ years. I paid a premium (compared to other brands) to get this GE model, because I've had GE appliances in my houses for decades and they were generally good quality. The unit is out of warranty. Replacing the compressor is not cost-effective - I can buy a new (other brand) unit for less than the cost to fix this one. I'm told that GE didn't even make this one; it's just branded "GE."
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello - We're sorry to hear your beverage center stopped cooling, and someone told you it wasn't worth the cost to repair. We understand how disappointing that would be, and we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. We understand that someone's opinion can affect how you may feel about an appliance, but we're here to say we're always here to help you!
When the fridge is not cooling properly, be sure the unit isn't too close to the wall, the door isn't left open and set the temperature control one step colder.
Please know our appliances come with a limited one-year warranty. This covers any part of the unit which fails due to a defect in materials or workmanship. GE Appliances will also provide, free of charge, all labor and related service to replace the defective part. You can schedule service by calling 1-800-432-2737 or online here: https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm.
We hope you find this response helpful! Best wishes. -Shayla@GEA
