We've had this unit for not quite 2 years, & it frosts up every few months. It is noisy, & there is very warm air that pushes out around the unit. (It has 1/2" clearance on each side & about 1/2" on top.) We are now stuck with either repairing this unit or going with a 15" cooler as this GE is not a standard size for a built in beverage cooler!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Only after two years in service unit stopped cooling. Cost to repair mmay end up being just the same to replace

Not good for pop or beer

I bought this for a basement bar fridge to keep pop and beer. It will not cool past 41 degrees from the factory. If all you need is a wine cooler, this is for you. DO NOT let the name fool you. Plus now it has frosted over, and needs a new control board and temp sensor

Doesn't cool down

I set the temperature desired for wine and never gets to it. Smells like moisture inside....looks very nice but really doesn't work.

QUIET and SPACIOUS

This unit is very quiet. It hold s alot of beverages. We pack it until no room left and notice a very small amount of condensation around the top shelf, but that is because we have so much in it. Keeps the beverages chilled nicely. We didn't install the handle as it was not needed. Kinda wish the shelves were a darker color, and the stainless color around the outside was darker or black, but really a benefit to our kitchen overall.

Stopped working at 14 months

I bought this beverage cooler in April 2016 and it stopped working June 2017 (14 months). It still looks brand new and clean, and was installed per manufacturer's manual. It appears the compressor died and unfortunately the unit is only warranted 12 months.
At this reliability and price point, I would consider either a cheaper alternative (and replace frequently) or purchase a different brand/model that lasts longer or has better warranty coverage.
Also - the stainless/wood design of the unit was great, however, the inside had a strong off-gas odor when first purchased. It mostly went away over time.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The wooden shelving, to me, is classy. There is enough room in this fridge to handle a small wine collection and cannot say I would prefer it larger or smaller. The light and temperature readouts are excellent features, but I wonder why the light is either on...door open or closed...or off, with door open or closed...depending on if you toggled it on or off. Strange. Easy to adjust temperature.
