Annoying beep

I would like this dryer a lot except for the OBNOXIOUS beeping that the machine does when it is done (and you can't turn the beeping off!). When the cycle is complete it beeps and beeps and beeps every three minutes for what seems like hours. I can't do laundry at night because of the loud beeping, it wakes me up!

I regret buying this. When the dryer is done it just beeps and cycles and beeps. If you are in bed you lie there dreaming of a different dryer. It is awful and you can't dusable it.

Worst purchase experience ever

Buying this dryer and matching washer from a certain mostly mall-based major national retailer was a horrible experience. Paid for the machines in full in November 2013 and had to wait three months for delivery and installation. Terrible runaround from both the retailer and Whirlpool about when I'd get the machines, and several significant misrepresentations along the way. The dryer is made in Italy, yet the retailer promoted it as "Built With American Pride," suggesting it's made in the United States. It was also promoted with a side-venting option that, in fact, is a rear-venting variation that takes up more space than the standard rear-venting configuration. (The retailer waited until about a day before delivery to inform me of that issue, which very nearly made the installation unworkable.) And it was promoted as having an adjustable end-of-cycle signal that can be turned off, yet the signal, in fact, is not adjustable and goes off every three minutes for an hour until you turn the power off or open the door. (Sleep well!) Now, a year and a half after installation, the dryer heating unit has stopped working. If the retailer's extended-warranty repair process goes as smoothly as the sales and installation process, it will be a horrible experience, too. There are other similar (but slightly deeper) compact units that, if they would fit in my condo laundry closet, I would love to have. I'll never purchase a Whirlpool appliance, or any appliance from this retailer, again.

Don't Buy

We bought this dryer to replace the maytag version we had bought in 2014. This was the only unit that we could stack with our maytag compact washer.We got the dryer in April and already the heating element is broken. Now we are going on 4 weeks waiting for a replacement part.Do not buy this unit.

Not a stellar performer

I bought this to replace one just like it that failed. Within a year had to have heating repaired (it rotated with no heat). Now it has done it again within another year. The dryer does not get a lot of use as it is in a rental. And the first repair quote was $600!!!! I think I got a lemon.....

Stopped Heating After 18 months

Bought this unit with a the matching front loader washer. It stopped heating after less than two years. Diagnosis and repair is more expensive than replacement of the entire unit. Not recommended.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love my new washer & dryer from Whirlpool. The features are very unique; I enjoy being able to rely on the dryer to sense when my clothes are dry. Whenever cycles are complete I receive notifications that are helpful to keep track of loads. The space given is more than enough to take care of all my needs. I actually enjoy being able to touch my cycle options better than turning the typical knob(boring ;) ). Overall, I believe I purchased a great product for a great price. Whirlpool was number one choice when shopping for appliances. Thank you for having great quality.
