Fantastic

I had been using Epson Stylus Photo 870 for several years and it finally gave up the ghost, banding and bad color, etc. After vascillating for a few months I decided on the R1900 and have not regretted my decision. The photos are fantastic, what you see on the monitor will be tranferred to photo paper.
Cons: Cartriges are small and not readily available locally(have to order directly from Epson) and I like to keep two extras of each color on hand. I'm not a professional, just take a lot of photos with my digital SLR of grandkids, scenery and wildlife.

This is a great printer.

Great printer and great price

After much research and reading expert and customer reviews, I bought the Epson R1900. I am very pleased with the quality of the color prints. The colors, especially the reds, are very sharp and vibrant on the best photo setting. The facial tones are absolutely beautiful. I have an old scanner without all of the bells and whistles found in newer photo scanners. I found Epson's technical support team to be very helpful. It is my opinion that the quality of photos printed with the Epson R1900 far exceeds those printed from photo labs and have own Epson printer since 1984. I use OEM Generics Ink Cartridges in the pass and will eventually screw on your printer now I only Epson Ink Cartridges and photo paper for the Best Results and loner printer life.

Outstanding performance for wildlife

The R1900 provides outstanding color reproductions of wildlife subjects with pefect color renditions to a tee. This is the best performing printer I have used during the past fifteen years. Portrays perfect settings of scenic settings for birds, butterflies, and animals as well as reptiles and other wanderers out of the ordinary. No problems and easy to operate.

Great Product

I have owened several Ink Jet Printers over my life time. this one is quiet, it produces great color. It prints what I see on the computer screen with great accuracy.It produces great contrast and definition. It delivers as advertised and more. I have reccomended this product to my friends. when I upgrade it will be with another Epson Ink Jet printer in this line. it is easy to operate and the instructions are user friendly. the ink cartriges are extremely easy to get to and change which is a plus in my opinion

Good, but stiff learning curve

This is my first more professional photo printer. I have been having decent results with the provided profiles, but it has taken a while to get the colors correct to my liking.
The one issue I am having is getting profiles from other companies to work as well as the Epson profiles. This can be a bummer when you want to use different papers for a different look/feel.
Overall, good printer. Know that you will need some time to get things right.

Love my R1900

I own an Epson Artisan & it is a great printer; however the R1900 I just bought exceeded my expectations. The printed colors are true to my digital pictures. I have read the reviews of the R1900 and the complaints of the amount of ink the R1900 uses………..hello, it prints large pictures. I cut a 13 x 19 sheet off of a canvas roll and used the back feeder and it came out great. I would of course still use the roll attachment for pictures longer than 19 inches. I find the printer very easy to use.

Great printer

This is a wonderful printer with outstanding quality. I have not used it that much since I just recently purchased it. However, so far I am very pleased. My only objection has to do with the gloss coat. I wish ti disable it on occasion, but, cannot figure that out. I would also like to print in B/W sometimes and cannot figure that out either. But, the color prints are fantastic!!!

I have had this printer for about a month now and I am extremely happy with it. The pictures I have printed are the best I have ever printed. It makes me enjoy printing my photographs and has renewed my love for photography. I would highly recommend this product.
